Darkness. All I saw was black, whirling around the child's soft eyes. "It's okay, your fine. Your alright. Your okay." I said as my lips started to tremble, making his every last second worse knowing he was going to die. "Aviene you need to lea....." He murmured his last word. Leave. I followed his orders, I have to escape before the city is fully infested. But, I'm caught between love, and life. Standing frozen, with no thought in my mind, except fear. I turn to the child once more. His face had grewn pale. The twinkle in his eye was missing. I kissed my dagger, and left it on his lap, just in case. I started to race across the dirt covered ground. Marble? The ground was becoming glazed over with dark green marble. "Phaton." I said to myself. The captivated prisoner, now free. The polished marble grew underneath the boy. He vanished with a strike of lightning. I ran so fast, I was practically flying by the time I reached the tip of the ledge. The wind flew through my silky gold locks as I fell, down the dark passage way. "Huh?" I awoke with a startle. "You're gonna be late for the phycyatrist!" I'm not Aviene, nor fighting Phaton DarkFlame. My mother says it's just a dream, but I think... I know it means something.
Chapter One: When the Mourning Arises
"So, Ms. Turpley, you claim your child has visions in her sleep?" My mother and I sat in the chilly secluded room. The dark gray walls were meant to feel soothing, but it made me feel as though I was locked in an dungeon under the ruins of one of Lord DarkFlame's village. "Yes, she says shes seen this.... man! His name was King BlackLight and he ruled..... Razor! Yeah the town of razor." My mother spoke as though she had been the psycho path. The man .ever asked me questions he just listened to my mother drone on about my 'visions', which weren't correctly told. I was the only one who knew the truth about the village of Raseri, and how prison bound Phaton escaped and somehow became ruler when I returned from one of my missions.
