"Laila! LAILA!" I opened my eyes to hear that my mother was calling me for breakfast. "It's your favourite (sigh) pancakes and get ready for your dress fitting!"
"Is there syrup on the pancakes?!" I called back.
"(Sigh) yes."I hopped out of bed,put on my favourite white dress and my fluffy, comfortable slippers and raced down the shiny yet very long stairs.
I sat down out of breath at the royal table. I hardly ever get pancakes for breakfast. It's always something like fruit salad or something fancy. Maybe mother is in a good mood.
"WHAT ARE THEY!" My mother exclaimed.
"My slippers."
"You stupid girl! When you are royal you have to stick to the royal rules!
"Did you read the book of rules last night?" Asked my dad more calmly.
"I don't care about the stupid book of rules! I just want to be normal!" I banged my hand hard on the table. Causing many plates to fall of the table. WHACK! My mother slapped me hard around the face.
I stood there stunned.
"GO TO YOUR ROOM!"I tried to be brave but I couldn't stop the tears rolling down my face.
I ran to my room and flopped on my bed and cried till I could cry no more and then I fell into a deep sleep.
I suddenly awoke.
"Oh god I'm late for my dress fitting!"I quickly put on my proper shoes and hurried downstairs avoiding my mother.
I came out of the palace gates and got on the carriage which was awaiting me.
"I'm so sorry I'm late!"
"Don't worry I'll get you there in time." The carriage driver said as he smiled at me.
For a few minutes we sat in silence which was boring so I decided to make a conversation.
"I hate fittings do you?" I asked him.
"Well I never had one as a kid."
"Oh...(sigh) sometimes I just wish I could run away."
"Why?" He asked.
"I want to be normal like the kids that play in the fields." I said sadly. "That's it. I'm running away tonight!"
"And how are you going to run away? Just run and hope you are going to lose the guards?"
"Good point actually. Well there is one way..."
"I'm not helping!" He said quickly.
"Please! I have a plan. All you have to do is pick me up in my jet! Pleaseeee! We could go to America!"He paused for a minute.
"I'll pick you up at 12."
"Oh thank you, thank you!"
"But if you think about it a tiny island in Greece to America in a carriage. Its going to be a long journey so bring your supplies with you. I will sort out the clothing just come as you are."
"I will."
"We're here." Said the carriage driver.I climbed out of the carriage waving goodbye to him.
I walked along the path to the door where all the dresses were. The guards opened the door for me.
"Your highness." One guard said as he bowed.
"Hi." He looked confused as I walked in.
"Oh my darling!"
"Hello Leonardo." I said rolling my eyes.
"Before you can put on the dresses on you need a corset. Do you need one or have you got one one already?"
"I've got one on already Leonardo."I lied.
"I doesn't look like it."I've got used to his mean comments.
"Ok then! Go behind the curtain and get changed into the first dress!"The first dress was horrible. It was bright red with dark green swirls on it eww. But Leonardo thought it was beautiful.
"Oh I loveeee it!"Leonardo said clasping his together.
"No. Just no.Next dress.
Awww. Leonardo moaned. This one was ugly too. It was a short dress which was black with yellow hearts on it. Mother wouldn't let me wear it anyway.
"Oh my this ones even better!"I didn't even say anything I just went behind the curtain. The last dress was beautiful it was a long pink, silk dress with golden lining at the top and bottom.
"I love this one." I said quietly.
"What! Eww this one disgusting!"
"Well I like this one and I'm going to take this one." I said confidently.
"Ugh fine.Take it off and I'll get it home as soon as I can." Leonardo said.
"Can you get it home tonight maybe?"
"I'll try. But I can't promise you anything."
"Ok. Thanks Leonardo."
"No problem darling! Goodbye!"
"Bye!" I went outside to see that my carriage was awaiting me again.
"Hello again." I said
"Hello."
"Hey I never caught your name."
"My name is Ben."
"I like that name. I had a cat called Ben but he died 3 years ago." I said sadly
"Oh no... Now what is your name?"
"You don't know my name! I'm the princess!
"No I don't sorry."
"My name is Laila, Princess Laila of Whitshire."
"I like that name...Well we are back at the castle."
"Thank you for everything you are doing." I said.
"No problem." He smiled again as a walked through the castle gates.
"Goodbye!" I shouted just loud enough that he could here me.
"Bye!"
I hurried into the castle. But on the way I bumped into mother.
"You've been out for hours!"
I ignored her and walked to my room. I fell asleep and slept for 1or 2 hours. Then father called me for dinner. I came downstairs and ate my food and straight away got up and went to my room to get ready to escape.
When my parents were in bed asleep I tiptoed downstairs to where all the food and drink was. Packed my bag and got a few blankets. I was ready to go. It was only 10:50 so I decided to get some sleep before we go to America.
I woke up suddenly and looked at the time it was 11:50. "Oh no! only 10 minutes to check I've got everything for the journey.
10 minutes went by and it was time to go to America. I heard my jet in the distance. I got all my stuff and waited. The jet came right up to my window.
"Are you ready?" Ben asked.
"I think so..."
"Good. Hop in."
"Wait what?!"
"Hop in."
"There's a massive gap bet-"
"Come on." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the jet."We've got no time to waste."
Then we set off to America.
