Summer.

Every kid loves summer because those dreadful days of school were finally over and all that was left was sleeping in till noon and hanging out with friends. Unless you were antisocial and an introverted outcast, then you could always just stay locked in your isolated room binge watching crappy netflix movies.

Although, everyday was sizzling and extremely hot, and some actually people preferred the summery weather because it meant more ice cream, hotties in shorts and sleeping naked. Not to mention going to the beach with loved ones, which is the basic summer vacation everyone looks forward too. Summer is loved by everyone, everyone but Namjoon.

Namjoon absolutely hates summer. His parents constantly bossed him around in his house and never gave him any freedom apart from doing outside chores during that season. As well as always being cursed down upon for not becoming a child prodigy like his older brother. Namjoon hated his home and that's why he tried every way possible to escape that hell hole, even if it meant escaping late at night sometimes. It's not like he was ever caught though, because like he said, the only thing his parents cared about him was nothing.

Which is why he had signed up to be a camp counselor at Camp Bangtan a few summers back and boy is he glad he had. He was ecstatic to be going earlier than last time too, after all, the sooner he left, the better. Sure, taking care of kids wasn't really his thing but anything is better than being cursed down upon by his disgraceful parents. Namjoon isn't exactly sure how he convinced all of his friends to sign up with him too, they were all extremely lazy and he was honestly astonished even Seokjin agreed to come along considering he never gets out of bed, even for food. But he did, and Namjoon was glad he could spend his summer with his friends.

So currently, Namjoon, Seokjin, Yoongi and Taehyung were seated in Namjoon's car as he drove them to Camp Bangtan to spend their whole summer dealing with annoying pubescent druggies, or innocent children who eat glue on the daily. They each get assigned a different age category so its different children each summer. Namjoon prefers the younger ones though because at least they don't hurt his feelings.

"are you guys excited to come back this year? I heard we're getting new kids and staff." Namjoon chirped up, trying to ease the silence surrounding the car.

"no, everyones fucking annoying." Seokjin groaned, his eyes remaining closed as he tried to nap during the boring ride.

Taehyung, who was seated next to the grumpy man, rolled his eyes and jumped up in his seat, "im excited! I love kids!"

"that's because you are a kid." Seokjin remarked, earning a chuckle from the older guys. Taehyung frowned and crossed his arms over his chest dramatically, "ya'll suck balls."

"you got that right." Yoongi murmured under his breath.

Namjoon was lucky enough to have picked Yoongi to sit in the passenger seat considering he was way easier to control rather than the other two kids in the back. Taehyung always messed around when he was moved up front, such as occasionally honking the car horn when Namjoon wasn't paying attention, which ultimately got them pulled over twice. Then when the police officer would come over, Taehyung would honk the horn again which ultimately caused Namjoon to get a ticket. Seokjin, well, all he ever does is criticize Namjoons life and having to deal with those remarks so close to his ear, he just couldn't bare it. Yoongi was the best choice because all he ever did was check himself out in the mirror.

"well personally," Namjoon continued, considering no one bothered to properly answer his question, "i think this is going to be a great summer, new kids means new adventures."

"do you think there's going to be any new hot guys?" Yoongi added, putting away his travel sized mirror on the car's side compartment. You could practically hear Taehyung and Seokjin roll their eyes.

"yoongi could you not be such a man slut today, or everyday?" groaned Seokjin. Yoongi huffed angrily and turned in his seat to send angry daggers at Seokjin, however the male was not intimated whatsoever. Instead, he flipped Yoongi off with his middle finger which in return earned a gasp from the innocent Taehyung.

"joonie seokjin keeps cursing." Taehyung childishly tattled. Seokjin rolled his eyes and whispered 'snitch' under his breath, not actually saying it out loud knowing the male would just tell on him again.

Namjoon sighed, he honestly felt like the mother of the group and it wasn't a good thing, it was just plain annoying. "jin stop being mean."

"you can't tell me what to do!"

Namjoon gasped, "don't make me turn this car around you crippled boob."

"i dare you to bitch!"

"ugh!"

The car ride from Namjoon's house to the camp was a three hour drive, but because the three passengers constantly bickered and distracted Namjoon, such as having to do numerous pit stops because Taehyung always had to pee for some reason, they would approximately arrive in six hours from Namjoon's calculations.

Namjoon really hopes this summer will be fun, he actually enjoys taking care of kids because forming relationships with newbies while their young is adorable. Especially when they cry upon leaving for school. He's sure his friends will make the season enjoyable too, if they actually do their work this time.

Hopefully the new staff will be friendly and help with the children, not like the past staff who didn't do shit and were only there for the free food.

His boss had informed him of the new events to take place a few days ago, along with asking him to tutor a new counselor by the name of lungkook? The phone call was a bit messed up so he couldn't quite hear properly but he agreed nonetheless. He liked helping out new recruits and he's sure it won't be hard, so he was honestly fine with it doing it.

Namjoon hopes the new recruit won't be such a hassle, his friends were honestly enough to deal with. He doubts it though, but right now, he just has to deal with having fun.
