I woke with a start, from Justin shaking me. “Get up Meredith, you have class. I will come to collect you when you are dressed.” He said with no emotion at all. “Whatever” I said coldly. His expression stayed cold but his eyes showed his hurt for just a second before they returned to stone. “Just do it.” He said finally. A half out later I heard a knock at my door before a clicking of the lock. “Meredith I have come to collect you." A deep voice rang out in my room. “Justin couldn’t collect me himself could he now.” I smirked then I followed him into the hall and up a series of stairs, until we came to a stop outside a small room full of bookcases and desks. “Meredith, hi. I am going to help you learn some more about your powers today.” He stuck out his hand to greet me. I brushed past him and spoke, “Well let’s not bother with the manners, it’s not like we are friends.” I stared blankly at the wall behind his head as he frowned but began to teach.  “Meredith you need to focus now move the pencil." "I can't I bloody can't." "Calm down Meredith, just breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth." I tried but I couldn’t focus, with so many other thoughts racing through my mind. "Why am I doing this? Where is Justin?” “You are doing this because you need to learn. So that you can help us stop it!" "You mean I can stop my father." I said quietly. He nodded just as Justin burst through the doors. "You can't tell her!" "He already did!" I jumped from my seat and I stood so close to him we were and inch away. "You want to take down my father." I said quietly. I moved even closer so I felt his breath on my neck, I heard him suck in a breath as we were inches apart. "Son of a bitch" I slammed him with my mind and he flew to the ground and grunted. "We need to talk about this Meredith," I laughed

“Oh so now you want to tell me!” I forced more energy onto him as he rose to his feet and pushed his way towards me. "You don't know what you are here for you don't know who you are and what you can do, we didn't tell you because this is what we were afraid of." He threw my teacher a nasty look. "But if you st-" he groaned in pain and ran his fingers through his hair. "Meredith please" those words I had said to him. Two little words. He sounded so alone so confused, so weak. I stopped and I stormed out of the room in hope he would follow.

"Meredith! What the hell" he stormed through my door and yelled at me. "What Justin? What do bloody expect me to say! You want to kill my father!" I walked up close to him so close I could feel his breath on me. "How would you like it if someone killed, your father!” I screamed back at him. Pain shot through his eyes. "See now how does it feel huh! That is my bloody father!” I took a breath, but didn't calm down. "Maybe we should kill yours instead!” He jolted back and sank into the ground. I turned away, guilty. A few minutes later he spoke. "You know you don't have to." I began to turn, “He’s already dead." I saw his face, the face I saw in the hallway. The sad, afraid and lonely face. His memories shot through my head. His face. A child's face. A mother’s face. A man with a gun, pointed at Justin. Justin's father. His mother screaming, little brother crying, father dying, Justin’s silent tears. I jolt back into reality. "Justin…" He lifted his head sadness in his eyes. "Don't! I do not need your pity! I don't need anyone's pity. I don't need anyone!"  "Justin." I whispered. "Don't Meredith! Just don't!” He picked himself up of the floor and walked to the door. "Justin! I'm sorry!” He kept making his way towards the door. "I never meant to hurt you! I'm sorry!” I grabbed his arm and pulled him back. "Justin, I'm sorry you had to go through that." I cautiously put my arms around his body and looked him in the eyes. He looked pained. We just looked at each other, not sure, if what we were doing was right. "Meredith?" "Yeah" "please don't say anything." His eyebrows furrowed as he asked the question. I wasn't sure what he was meaning, that his father sacrificed himself for his son or that he was here. With me. "Sure I'm so sorry" it was as if all his burdens fell onto me as he rested his head in the crook of my neck. He stayed that way for a while until the guards burst through the doors. We sprang apart, as the guards shouted for me to put my hands up. I raised them as Justin's face went back to stone cold as if just five seconds earlier there was not twisted emotions running the course of his body. They grabbed my shoulders and didn't bother putting cuffs on but marched me towards the stairs. I was shoved down stairs and pushed around corners until we finally reached a cell. A prison cell.

As soon as I saw the cell, I screamed and fought to get out. I guess they put me out because I woke up to a stiff feeling in my neck. I climbed out of the hard bed and splashed my face with cold water from the basin. I suddenly realized I wasn't wearing the same clothes. Who changed me? "I did" Justin spoke from outside my cell. Did he just read my mind? "Yes" he said again. I walked slowly to the cell so he wouldn't back up. "You put me in this." I said looking down at the drab nighty. "Yes. Not bad either." "JUSTIN WHAT THE HELL! You can't go looking at me when I'm out!" I threw my energy and it was as if he threw it back at me. "Not to good now are you." "But I did it to you before" I said furious I couldn't hurt him. "Yeah but this time there is a wall between us." I laughed. "So this is you is it. Two faced. When were alone you like 'please Meredith don't hurt me but when there are others around" I pointed to the guard. “You’re spiteful, cold and mean." For a second hurt flashed through his eyes. "Aren't you the same?" He smirked, pleased with himself. I slammed my fist into the bars in front of me. He laughed at my pitiful effort and walked away. "JUSTIN! You can't let them keep me in here! JUSTIN!” I screamed for him, I don't know why or how, but him being around have me comfort, despite his harshness. I stood banding my fist into bars continuously. I heard guards laughing at me. I heard guards telling me to stop, but for some reason I couldn't. I needed to feel other pain besides being completely and utterly alone. "Justin" I called weakly. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. My wrist knocked against the bars. I knew there would be a bruise in the morning but it didn't stop me. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. "Meredith." I heard a familiar voice, Damon? "Damon! Damon where are you Damon!" I yelled my heart rate rising in excitement. "Damon." I started yelling for him and throwing my body against the bars. "Run Damon they'll lock you up run!” Once again, I threw my body at full force into the bars. "Meredith stop. It's Justin." My body stopped at sudden realization. I looked up to see Justin standing in front of me. "What are you doing here? You didn't come when I called for you!" I said angrily. "I’m here because they called me down. Apparently someone was causing mayhem." I laughed bitterly. “ha I'm glad! You got my brother locked up too?" "What? We don't have your brother. Only you." "I heard him he was here." His eyes were concerned. "No he wasn't, it's just me" I began screaming and throwing my body again at the bars to try to get to Damon. I know they have him. "Meredith! Damon isn't here!” He began to move so he was in front of me, reached his hands through the bars, and grabbed my arms. "Meredith please." Again, those words they send me into shock, they stop me in my tracks, they take me back to the first time I saw him. Gorgeous. I broke down sobbing in my cage. I vaguely heard the cell opening. When suddenly there was arms around my waist picking me up and carrying me away.
