Sydney's P.O.V.

I thought about my life as I walked to school.
I have a loving family. Mom and dad.
Nice friends who love me for who I am, my nerdiness and all.
A 4.1 GPA.
What else would a girl need? I don't like to think of myself as the ones who 'dress to impress' or act like a dummy to get boys to like me. I'm me and that's all that matters.
By the time I finished my thinking, I reached to school. I walked through the front doors, and instantly heard the whispers swarm into my ears. Oh, did I mention I was bullied? Well, yeah.
I don't really care about people calling me names. I just let it pass me by. But sometimes the shit people say really get deep down into the core.
I dragged myself to my locker, and put in my combination.
10-38-24
I quickly grabbed by math textbooks, and hurried to class. When I got there, it was about 5 minutes to 9:00 AM. I always like to get to class early, just to get myself under control.
I headed to the back of class, seating in my usual seat. No, I'm not one of those girls who are quiet and never raise my hand for anything. I actually do the opposite. I raise my hand so often so I can get extra points for participation.
I looked into my bookbag, and pulled out my math folder. I looked over my folder, before putting it to the side of my desk. I bent back down to my bag and pulled out my pencil and eraser. I looked at the clock again.
8:59 AM.
I quickly took off my glasses and used the bottom of my shirt to clean them. By the time I put them back on, the class was beginning to pile in.
I saw my friends, smiled, and waved. They hurried over and sat in the seats in front of me. My friends names were Jessica, Jamayah, and Alyssa.
They sat down and turned around.
"So girls, big party tonight! Whose gonna come and have a few drinks?" Jamayah asked, smirking. Jessica and Alyssa whooped while I groaned.
They always get me to come to these things, but I always refused.
Watching Teen Wolf was always a better priority than partying.
"Guys, not tonight. I still haven't watch Teen Wolf from Monday night. My TV and a big bowl of popcorn are calling my name." I said.
"God, Sydney. Do you ever do anything other than obsessing over Teen Wolf and food?" Jessica asked, rolling her eyes. At that, I got offended.
"Hey! At least when I'm watching TV and eating, in the comfort of my own house, per say, I'm not at risk for getting kidnapped and raped!" I said. I continued, "I could be a drug addict! Do you realize how lucky you are?!"
Things went silent. "Everything you just said is true. BUT. Sometimes it's good to get a little fresh air sometimes. Smell something different than popcorn butter and TV fumes." Jamayah said.
I thought about it. My parents were certainly glad that I stayed in the house for most of the time, but they always urged me to go out to a party or something.
"FINE." I gave in. The teacher, Mr. Thomas came in a bit after 9:10 AM. The girls cheered silently and turned around, giggling.
I sighed. This day is gonna be long.
*the end of the day*
I waved goodbye to my friends, and started walking back to the house.
When I got back, I ran up to my room and jumped onto my bed, face up. I thought about what I was gonna wear tonight, and went through my mental closet. Don't judge, I was too lazy to get up.
