Victoria Brooks is a 16 year old Sophomore at Bedingfield Prep. Her life isn't as easy as she tries to make it. With her screwed up past and being known as a run away child in her hometown, Victoria is known to not care. She is your typical bad/good...
After reading her messages, Victoria walks into the living room and plops down on the couch. She grabs the remote and turns on the TV.
“Hmmm, what to watch, what to watch?”, she whispers to herself.
Victoria surfs through the TV channels quickly. She stops on channel 78 and finds her interest in the movie Bridesmaids. While watching the movie, Victoria hears a knock on her door that comes with a yell.
“Vickster!”, the person yells. “Come open this damn door!”
Victoria laughs as she jumps up and prances over to the door. She quickly opens the door. As soon as the door is open, she gets tackled to the ground.
“Maxwell!”, she yells laughing.
Maxwell laughs as he kisses Victoria all over her face.
“Oh I missed you so much Vickster”, he says.
“Okay, okay I missed you too”, she says hugging him.
Maxwell hugs her back and then jumps off of her. He reaches down and grabs Victoria’s hand to help her up. He pulls her up and closes the door.
“Would you like to tell me why you weren’t answering your phone earlier?”, he asks.
“My landlord had me meet my new neighbor and I forgot my phone in my room”, she says.
“Ooh okay”, says Maxwell. “So what’s your new neighbor like?”
“Well, I know his name is Danny”, Victoria says while walking into the kitchen.
Maxwell follows. “Is that really all you know?”, he laughs.
“Pretty much yeah”, she says grabbing pizza rolls. “I slammed the door in their faces.”
Victoria hears Maxwell laugh and turns around to look at him.
“What is so funny?”, she asks him.
“The fact that you slammed the door in your new neighbor’s face”, he laughs.
Victoria rolls her eyes and walks into her bedroom. She lays down across her bed. Maxwell walks into her bedroom and lays down next to her.
“What’s wrong Vickster?”, he asks while stroking her arm.
She sits up and rests her head on his chest as Maxwell snakes his arm around her waist.
“I miss him”, Victoria says.
“I know”, Maxwell says.
“What do you think life would be like if he was still here?”, Victoria asks while sniffling.
“I’d be better than how it is now”, he says.
6 months earlier
It was a cold September night when they got the news. At 7:30 p.m., Logan Brooks was found dead on the side of the road in his car. A note in one hand that read “I’m back”, and a bullet through his stomach. That night was the night that everything fell apart. Victoria was broken, hurt, and just felt dead inside. Her best friend, brother, hero, etc was dead. That was the night that she ran away from home.
Present day
Maxwell holds Victoria tight.
“It’s okay”, he says while holding her.
They hear the timer on the oven go off which means their food is done. Victoria groans.
“I’ll go get the food”, he says.
Maxwell gets up and jogs into the kitchen to get their food. Victoria layed in bed and waited for Maxwell to bring the food. When he came in with their pizza rolls her frown turned upside down.
“Thank you Maxie”, Victoria says while grinning.
Maxwell lays the plate on Victoria’s bed. And walks into her bathroom.
“If you plan on taking a shit then leave!”, Victoria yells.
Maxwell laughs and then closes to door.
“I’m taking a piss!”, he laughs.
Victoria giggles to herself as she eats her pizza rolls. A couple of minutes later, Max walks out of the bathroom shirtless. Victoria looks over at him and laughs.
“Did you go into the bathroom to take your shirt off?”, she laughs.
“Yes and no”, he says laying on the bed.
“Ok then”, Victoria says laying her head on his chest.
Maxwell and Victoria lay in her bed and talk for some hours. Knowing that school is tomorrow, they use their time wisely. The two soon fell asleep and was later awaken by a knock on Victoria’s front door. Victoria quietly groans and climbs out of her warm bed. She slowly walks from her bedroom into the living room to answer the door.
Danny
Danny laid in his bed and played his Xbox without realising tomorrow was his first day of school. He groaned and grabbed his phone.
“Hey Amanda, do you know what time Bedingfield Prep starts tomorrow?”, he asks.
“Sorry Danny, but no I don’t”, she says. “Although, Victoria goes to BP so why don’t you go over there and ask her?”
Danny rolls his eyes.
“I’m not quite sure she likes me”, he says annoyed.
“Well, do you want to make it to school or not?”, Amanda ask.
“Honestly, I don’t even know why my father put me back into school cause I don’t like going”, Danny explains.
“Unless you have a job, you need to go school so you can pay your rent”, she says.
Danny groans and sighs loudly.
“Fine whatever, I’ll go ask her”, he says. “Bye.”
“Bye.”
Danny gets off the phone with Amanda and leaves his room. He walks into the living room with his phone in hand.
“Let’s get this over with”, he says huffing and walking out of his apartment.
Danny goes next door and knocks on Victoria’s door a couple of times. He waits a couple of seconds and then knocks again.
“Seriously, what is this girl doing?”, he says aggravated.
The door suddenly flies open.
“What this girl was doing is called sleeping”, Victoria says with anger.
