BOY MEETS WORLD

Shawn sat up on Cory's bed after thinking long and hard about what Mr.Matthews said. He breathed in and out and walked over to the bathroom to clean off the tears from his face. He turned his head as he heard the laughing of Cory and Topanga come through the door. "This is it Shawn! You can do it! I know you can...just tell him! What's the worst that can happen? I'll tell you the worst! He can hate me forever...but he would never hate me...we're best friends. Shawn and Cory. Cory and Shawn."

He slowly walked downstairs into the kitchen where everyone was sitting eating lunch. "Hey Shawnie...when did you get here?" "Um I...I" Shawn sputtered, struggling for words. "Shawn's been here playing with Joshua. He was just upstairs cleaning up." Mr. Matthews nodded at Shawn as Shawn mouthed a Thankyou to him. "You look like I've been crying Shawn...are you okay?" Topanga said walking up to him.

"I...." "Now that I'm looking at you it does look like you've Been crying. Shawnie what's wrong? Talk to me." Cor...." "Shawn has to talk to you Cory." Alan said. "I'll come back later...Feel better shawn." Topanga said leaving this house.

"Cory..this is really hard for me." "It's me Shawn...it's Cory. You can tell me anything. We're best friends." "I know! But this is the hardest thing I've ever done or said to someone! I'm struggling a lot right now...I have so much pain inside of me and nobody knows it! I try to hide it and try to keep in my tears but sometimes it doesn't work!" "Shawn I...I didn't know you were feeling so much pain. Why didn't you tell me!" "BECAUSE THE PAIN IS CAUSED BY LOVE!"

"Shawn...does this have to do with Angela?" "NO! THIS HAS TO DO WITH YOU! IM IN LOVE WITH THE WRONG PERSON! IM IN LOVE..with you." Shawn whispered the last part...hoping Cory didn't hear it..unfortunately for him..Cory did. "Your...what? Shawn why didn't you say anything!" Tears were running down Shawns face. "I didn't want to ruin the best friendship that ever existed.." "Shawn I would never hate you...you are my best friend...always have been and always will. Come on did you really think I would hate you because you loved me? That's not how I am Shawnie. I always knew we had something most people in the world will never experience. You loved me and I loved you...and sometimes...okay always...it was in a more than a friend way."

"You mean that? You mean you don't hate me? We are still best friends? We will always be best friends? You...you liked me back?" "Of course we always will! Of course I don't hate you! Of course I always loved you in a more than a friend way. You had to know I did..right?" Shawn grabbed Cory and hugged him and all they did for hours on end was just hug.

The only real person who loved and accepted him was Cory Matthews. And shawn knew that the only real friend he wanted was Cory Matthews. Now. Forever. And Always. Because it was Cory and Shawn. Shawn and Cory. And it always would be. No matter how old they got.
