Jim's POV
"Okay, Jim, your quarterlies are looking very good? How are things going at the library?" My boss Michael asks? His dark hair looks greasy and his hazel eyes stare down at my report. He's an okay boss, I guess, I don't know, really, what else to say about him. He can be a total jerk sometimes, and gets extremely off-topic very often, but sometimes he's entertaining to watch. The receptionist, Pam, and I will often come up with theories about why Michael does the things he does. She is by far my favorite person here.
"Oh, I didn't tell you, I couldn't close it." I say, casually.
"So you came in here for guidance? Is this what you are saying grasshopper?" clearly unimpressed, Michael makes a face and I say to him, "Actually you called me in here, so.."
Michael dismisses me and I go over to Pam's desk. Her wavy brown hair clipped back, she looks so beautiful, if only she wasn't engaged. . . .
Her hazel eyes brighten at the sight of me and I can't help but wonder if she feels the same way about me as I feel about her. "What was that all about?" she asks.
I sigh. "Michael, you know." Pam nods her head. "Yeah. I know." she smiles. God, her smile could light up a room. I exchange light banter with Pam for a few more minutes and go sit back down at my desk. My desk-mate, Dwight, talks to a customer through the phone. As he is talking, he takes out a ruler and pushes all of my supposedly "overlapping" paper off his desk. it all falls onto the work I'm doing.
"Seriously?" Dwight makes a triumphant face, his blue eyes blazing with power, and goes back to the customer.
Michaels POV
"Jan Levinson Gould," I say to the camera crew. I just had a meeting where she talked to Pam and I about downsizing. "Jan, is, well, she's okay, I guess. Blah, I don't really know what to think of her. I have a nickname for her."
"Oh yeah?" the camera woman says.
"Yeah, it's Hilary Rodam Clinton. I don't call her that to her face, not that I'm scared of her." I get all defensive.
The camera crew goes to interview some other people while I am left to do work.
"Brrrrr." I exclaime, shaking my head back and forth, trying to clear my head. "Alright, work work."
I type in my password to my computer (1234) and look through my emails. refresh. nothing.
"UGGGHHHHHHHH" I go out to the common room and say, "Alright everyone, conference room meeting, half hour."
Almost everybody groans, but I don't let them get to me.
Pam's POV
The new temp is nice. And I like the camera crew too. I don't mind my job, and today has been good so far. Jim put Dwight's stapler in jell-o which was hilarious. Sometimes it's hard not to drift off and think about what life would be like if I were to tell Jim how I feel, how when he walks into a room I already feel like laughing at his simple glance. But the second I drift off, I snap myself out of it. I'm engaged to Roy, but what if things were different.
Jim comes up to my desk, his hazel eyes sparkle, the amazing thing about hazel eyes are that they change so much, that they are a different color everytime you look at them, and I always get lost in his eyes.
"A-are you going to Angela's cat party on Saturday?" I snort.
Jim laughs. "Yeah, no, c'mon, cat party?" we both burst out laughing.
"So what are you doing this weekend?" Jim asks.
"Well I think Roy and I are going to go visit his sister." I watch as Jim's eyes dull at Roy's name. Again, I wonder what's going on in his head.
Dwight's POV
"Down-sizing?" I ask the camera crew. "No, I'm not afriad of downsizing." I lie. "In fact, I've been recommending down-sizing since my first day."
The camera crew goes away and I walk back to my desk. Down-sizing, what an awful thing. I can't get let go! I love this job mor ethan I love almost anything. I remember on my first day when Michael hazed me by spraying me with the fire-hose.
That was funny. I look over at Angela, her blonde hair tied back, her eyes tired. I can't help but think of how beautiful she is. And how awful it would be to let her go. There are a few people I tolerate here, with the exception of Jim, Merideth, Kevin, Kelly, Oscar, Pam, Stanley, Phyllis, Toby, Devon, and well, I guess that's everyone except Michael, Angela, and the temp, whom I haven't figured out yet.
Only time will tell.
Ryan's POV
First days are always supposed to be weird right? I don't know what to think of this place, to be honest, the boss is kind of a jerk, but who knows, maybe it'll get better.
