It is another very cold Monday in July in the small town of South Park. There are children laughing and playing in the newly fallen snow, adults are enjoying the warmth and coziness of their homes, it seems like a perfectly normal town, except on the occasion when it's not. There are miles and miles of snowy, forested terrain where the children roam most in high hopes for fun and adventure in the boring town. While all the kids are outside playing and enjoying the snow, our young boy, Tweek Tweak, now 15 years old and going into his 10th year of school, is inside enjoying the warmth of the hot air and coffee, but yet still shaking. He takes a deep breath of the warm air around him to try to relax himself, as he has been practicing on so, and thinks of a paradise of flowers and kittens.
Normally he'd be enjoying this time alone with his boyfriend of 7 years, but Craig hadn't been around a lot. Tweek didn't quite know why Craig was so absent, as he hadn't told him before or during his disappearance, and any attempt to reach out to him via text or call has been ignored. It did worry him a lot, but he felt if something bad had happened to him, there would've been news about it spread already, so that was a peace of mind. Tweek looked down at his phone as Craig crossed his mind with hope that there might be some news of his presence with a text or call, but once again there was nothing. He sighed heavily and dropped his gaze to his coffee with sorrow.
Tweek had changed quite a bit from 4th grade year. He was sadly still short, but he did upgrade in fashion and was a bit calmer. He was still clumsy, easily spooked, and a big conspiracist, but people still enjoyed him. He was also still an insomniac despite help and treatment he got for it, no one can figure out why, but he's still healthy for the most part. Going back to him sitting in his room alone, we see him rise from his cocoon of blankets and walk to the window, still clenching firmly onto his coffee as to not drop it. He looks down at all the kids enjoying the snow with their friends and family and frowns. He was never really close to his family, but he didn't understand why no one was bothering to answer his texts. Had he done something wrong? Were they mad at him? He didn't know, and it haunted him. Until he suddenly heard his phone ringtone go off.
He stumbled over to his phone, picking it up and reading the name on the screen. "Craig..?" he muttered with confusion under his breath. Setting his cup of coffee on his desk and plopping onto the spinning, desk chair of death, he answered Craig's call and furrowed his brow, "Hey Craig! It's been forever, where have you been? What have you been doing? Why were you ignoring us?" Tweek accidentally began to ramble, but stopped himself to hear Craig speak. "Hey Honey, it has been a while, huh?" Craig replied in a soft voice.
"So what's been going on, Craig? Why were you a ghost for so long?" Tweek said in a worried tone, almost too eager to wait anymore. "Well..Tweek honey..." there was a pause before Craig continued, almost as though it pained him to speak, "I think it's best if we just talk about it in person...I'm sorry honey, I gotta go, we're heading back in town so I'll see you soon-" "Craig, what do you mean? Where were y-" "Bye honey." Click. The call ended, leaving Tweek concerned and highly confused. What was Craig talking about, 'I think it's best if we talk in person'? Did something happen to him? Was he ok? Did he get hurt? All these thoughts flooded poor Tweek's mind, but he knew he'd have to wait for Craig to get here to know what really happened.
A couple of hours passed as Tweek waited for Craig's arrival. He'd watch the clock and count as every second passed, feeling overwhelmingly anxious and nervous about the news Craig plans to bring. He soon heard a knock at the front door and raced downstairs to open it. Tweek opened the door and his face immediately lit up. Seeing each other after such a long time of not caused both boys to grow giant smiles on their lit up faces. Tweek fell into Craig's arms, hugging him tightly and laughing nervously, "Oh geez Craig, it's been forever! I missed you so much! Where have you been?" He was rambling again. Craig gave a short chuckle and hugged the blonde back, resting his chin on Tweek's head, "I missed you too Tweek, I'm sorry I've been out so long. Let's go to your room so I can spill the beans, ok?" He said as Tweek looked up and gave a nod of understanding.
Both boys went inside and Tweek led Craig upstairs to his room eagerly. Once they made it into his room, Craig closed the door behind them and let out a heavy sigh, plopping onto Tweek's bed. Tweek tilted his head, confused and concerned once again, and took a seat next to him, placing his hand on top of Craig's, "What's going on, Craig? Are you doing ok?" he asked softly and cautiously. Craig kept his gaze down to his shoes and heaved another sigh, closing his eyes and clenching onto Tweek's hand. "Tweek, you really wanna know what's been happening?" Craig pushed out, forcing a small smile on his face, as to not look hurt. Tweek frowned and clenched onto Craig's hand as well, "What do you mean, of course I do!" he replied anxiously.
Craig nodded, although he was still unsure and uneasy to tell Tweek the tea, he still began, "Well, honey...you see...these past few months have been a wild roller-coaster of abuse for me...my dad didn't take too well to me being gay, yanno, haha, but uh...he'd constantly tell me that I'm a disgrace and that he hated me and was ashamed to be my dad...and it's not like my mom or sister could much help because he turned them against me too...but...he'd constantly punish me by beating me to a pulp or even...coming in at night...and...well anyways, the neighbors heard what was going on and called CPS to save me, so uh...I'm with my aunt now...I was out of town in court cases to get her to have custody of me, but I'm here now and I'm glad to be because I missed you!"
Tweek's expression dwindled down to one of concern and sorrow and dread for the pain he heard Craig had to go through. He felt his eyes water as Craig began to cry. Even though he was laughing nervously and giving a broken smile, Tweek could feel the months of pain and suffering from Craig and felt his own heart break. How could he not have checked up one him? Why didn't he check up on him? What was he thinking? Stupid...He grasped Craig into a tight hug and began to sob, "I'm so sorry Craig...I'm so sorry you had to go through all that alone...I wish I was there...I wish I could've helped...I'm so sorry." Tweek whimpered out, holding Craig tightly and sobbing heavily into his shoulder. "Honey, I'm ok, I'll be ok. I'm in better hands now, my aunt will take care of me better than they ever did." He made sure to reassure Tweek to prevent him from having a panic attack.
"Are you sure Craig? You know you can come over and talk to me whenever! We can do whatever you want, whenever you want! Anything to make you happy..." Tweek nodded in assurance to Craig, face full of tears and snot, but determined to make his significant other as happy as possible. "Yes, Tweek, I'm sure. Thank you honey, I really appreciate your love and support. It really means the world to me." He answered with a warm smile, kissing the top of Tweek's head lovingly.
The boys soon got a hold of themselves and the overwhelming emotions of the moment. It was now getting late with how much they talked and caught up, so Craig checked the time and sighed sadly. "I gotta get going, Honey, but I'll be back soon. Thank you for letting me come over." Craig said, beginning to get up from the bed and put on his coat. "Aw, really? Ok, I'll walk you out." Tweek replied, also rising from the bed to lead Craig to the door. Both boys walked downstairs to the front door. Tweek opened the door for Craig and kissed him on the cheek as he was heading out. "Be safe Craig, please call me when you get home and text me whenever, ok?" Craig nodded and headed to the car parked in front of the yard.
As the car drove off, Tweek closed the door and head back to his cave, letting out a heavy sigh and frowning. Craig really went through so much by himself, didn't he...Gosh he's so strong...The blonde readied himself for bed and burrowed into the blankets, grabbing his phone and opening his texts to Craig. "Good night Craig, I love you so much <3" He texted, soon receiving a response, "I love you too Honey, sleep well <3" And with that, Tweek smiled softly and dozed off to sleep for once on a happy thought.
He really loved Craig.
