Poem #12

27 2 1

She was breathing
She was talking
She was laughing
She was walking

She was hearing
She was seeing
She was living
She was being

She was alive
She was there
She tried her best
She tried to care

But it wasn't her
It was all a lie
Because if she told the truth

They'd know she wanted to die

She was just a vessel
An empty shell
Because inside
It was a living hell

She put on a mask
She lied to everyone
She did her best
Acted like she was having fun

Then it all stopped

She stopped acting okay
No one questioned her
They just went on with their day

No one saw it coming
No one ever knew
They thought she was sad sometimes
They just thought she was blue

Then they found her on her bedroom floor
Her wrists painted red
They saw all the pills she took
They saw the note on the bed

"I'm sorry, but I had to go
There was nothing for me here
This life was a terrible one
It was full of so much fear

Sorry I ruined your day
With all this suicide stuff
But you really don't understand
My life was more than rough

So goodbye I guess
Sorry about the stain
I just couldn't take it anymore
I felt a lot of pain

You probably think I'm stupid then

The way that I died
'If you don't like pain, why'd you do it?'
Well at least I tried

Anyway that's all for now
There's so much more to say
But I really have to go
I must be on my way

I'm sorry this was so long
I'm sorry if I sounded rude
Sorry if this note sounded a little funny
I'm not in a good mood

Well, here I go
With a final goodbye
I'm leaving you all now
So you can go ahead and cry"

She was gone
She was dead
She will be missed
Or at least, that's what they said
