Everything about him is perfect.

His smile, his laugh, his personality...

"He's like an angel in disguise."

Dear diary, or something,

Hey. My name is Lyle. Yes, I know, odd name. It sounds like a girl's name and I get that. I get that a lot, to be honest.

Yes, I am writing in this damned diary and yes, I don't really want to. I was forced to since my parents felt the need to worry about me even more, about my feelings and all that weird shit. Not that I have any of those weird..warm and tingly.. things anyways, so why did they even bother?

So, I guess I am supposed to write about my day at school. It was the first week of our class and a new student arrived after being absent for like, five days. At first I thought..

"The fuck?"

I mean, it didn't made me pissed but I questioned it a lot. Without a lot of interactions with him, I realized so quickly. This guy seemed...perfect. Even if he came to school with a bedhead, he still looked decent. Even if he makes a mistake, he manages to make something so great out of it. He did amazing on his first few tests. First few for now, that is. He may break the scores he has one day, but that'll be some time later.

I got paired up with him once for an icebreaker kind of activity. This boy was too precious for the soul to handle. From his smile to his awkward laugh, you could tell that he hasn't seen the weird shit like memes and porn yet. I'm impressed.

Our conversation went out as something like this:

"Uh, hi."
"Hi there!~"
"What's your name?.."
"Arlo! Yours?"
"The name's Lyle. Weird name, I know."
"Nuh-uh! I find that name unique! I like it!" He giggled sweetly.
"Um..thanks?..."
"You're welcome! I hope to become great friends with you, Lyle."

"Okay everyone, next person!" The teacher said, cupping her hands around her mouth to act as an amplifier of sound.

"Oh! I got to go now. See you soon, Mr. Lyle! Bye!"
"Oh, uh, bye."

I think God, if he exists that is, sent an angel down on accident and didn't realize until later when he was put into this school. Oh boy. He fucked up big time. Big G should really say goodbye to one of his perfect little angels, because soon enough, this school is going to taint him.

At least, I think it will.

Maybe.

Now, you may be wondering,
"Why the fuck do you even care about this dude?"

Being part of the so called rebels of the school, with me having a lot of rule breaking on my record, my friends decided to give me a dare. A really interesting one, actually.

"We dare you to try and taint the new kid."

So, here I am now, having to befriend this guy and influence him. I think this should be pretty easy.

The fact that I am writing this late into the night shows how much my parents...are ignorant. They tell me,

"Lyle, you're going to use this diary to record all your emotions and events happening in your life."

And yet, they forgot to tell me about what time I an allowed to and when I am not, so I am going past my curfew to write in this. It's an acceptable reason, right? They just want me to write in this whenever.

A diary cannot tell me that writing shit about my parents is wrong. They told me to write whatever, so I am doing so. Aren't I such a good kid by following my parents' instructions?
Now that I think of it, this diary thing is pretty nice. It lets me write things down, practice my shitty handwriting, and doesn't make me stare at a phone while typing. Phone diaries are weird as hell for me, but who am I to judge those who use them?

I feel bad for that Arlo kid, actually. He is a new guy here, all precious and sweet. Here I am, about to ruin that image of his. I hope that something good comes out of this dare.

I'm going to have to sleep soon. Going to keep you in my bag for today. At school. With a lot of people.

Lets just hope you don't get stolen.

G'night.

Yours truly,
Lyle
