Chapter six

Hi guys, I hope you are all enjoying the story so far.  Here's the new chapter.

I was right about Lee not being too pleased with the amount of bags we had.  He almost made me get a taxi back to his, but after a bit of wiggling about.  We managed to all fit in the car with our purchases and Selina's luggage.

The first thing we noticed when we approached Lee's was the balloons in the trees in the entrance to his house driveway.  Selina didn't seemed surprised at the pink and blue balloons that had been hung up everywhere.  I kicked myself for not clicking on sooner.  Of course it was a surprise party.  That explains why Lee's mum was so eager for us to pick up Selina.

As I parked the car outside the house.  I saw a large blue and pink ribbon, tied in a neat bow on the door to Lee's house.  I giggled and Lee must have been on the same thought line as me because he said.  "If I didn't know better I would think this was a baby shower" he caught my eye and we both started laughing hysterically.  Then a shadow crossed Lee's face as it dawned on him.  This was a party for getting accepted into Harvard.  But we where lying to everyone because Lee hadn't been accepted yet.  I gave his hand a comforting squeeze and Selina impatiently pushed us forward.  "What are you waiting for? get in there" she said.

So I locked Lee's car and decided to leave the shopping in it as the top was still up.  When me and Lee walked through the ribbon covered door, there was a large shout of SURPRISE!! and hundreds of people crowded the foyer of Lee's house.

Soft music was playing in the background and people rushed forward to meet us.  Lee and I smiled at them all and I blushed.

  After an hour of meeting everyone and accepting their congratulations we concluded that not only where are immediate family that lived close there, but also mine and Lee's family from across the globe.  "Wow mum, I can't believe you pulled this off" Lee said to my right.  He was hugging his mum who told it was no bit deal.  "No big deal?" an old man said who was close by.  "I had to get a flight from Texas! I only had an hour to pack" the old man moaned.  I sort of knew who he was, but it had been years since I last saw him and I couldn't remember his name.  

I felt my heart stop as a voice I knew all too well replied to him.  "I hear you uncle Billy, I had to rush around getting everything sorted to come home early" Noah said.  He was speaking to his uncle but he was looking at me like a starving man would look at chocolate cake.  I blushed all over at his look but I couldn't bring myself to move.  I was so shocked.

Noah came towards me and stopped right in front of me.  He leaned in, so that he was milometers away and whispered.  "Surprise Shelley."

I couldn't see anyone else in the room, all that I could focus on right now was Noah.  Everyone else a irreverent to me at that moment.  He chuckled at my lack of communication and closed the tiny gap between us.
