*Kenzie's POV*
I woke up to my annoying alarm ringing. I slowly crawled out of bed. I rubbed my eyes a couple of times and reached out for my phone. It was the first day off Grade 11 and also my birthday. I hated the day my birthday was on, usually on the first day of school. As soon as the bright light of the phone hit my face I could already see 5 messages from Johnny, 6 from my boyfriend Ashton and 5 from Lauren. Johnny and Lauren wrote big long paragraphs for my birthday. I expected the same from my boyfriend but instead it all went totally wrong. All he wrote was " happy birthday kenz..." and then "im sorry😞..." and then it hit me something happened. I knew what was happening but i just had to read more. The next couple of words changed my life. "Im.." "breaking up..." "with you..." "I fell for someone else..."
*Johnny's POV*
I woke up super early so I decided to text Kenzie her big long paragraphs for her birthday. Once I was done I got ready for the first day of school. Ugh how i hate school. I would rather hang out with my mates Hayden and Carson and play Fortnite but instead i have to wake up at 6 am and go to school. Once I was done I checked my phone and saw that Kenzie left me a message. I immediately unlocked my phone to read the message but instead of seeing a happy thank you I saw an emotional text saying "Ashton broke up with me." I couldn't believe it. How could Ashton ever do that to such an amazing, beautiful and talented girl. She doesn't deserve this. As soon as I read this I ran to Kenzie's house to see if she was ok.
*Kenzie's POV*
A couple of minutes after I sent Johnny the message I heard a knock on the door. I knew it was Johnny. He was always there to cheer me up. Sometimes he even understood me more than my ex Ashton. I ran downstairs and opened the door and saw Johnny there with the same smile he always has. Just seeing his smile made me smile and I instantly knew he was the only person that made me truly happy.
