Chapter 1 Rude Awakening

"Abby get up!" I groaned as my roommate Priah threw something at me. "Why, I was sleeping?" I wined. Here's an easy way to piss me off- interrupt my sleep. Seeing as she didn't answer, I rolled onto my back and looked at her to see if there was an answer to why she woke me up.  I was greeted with the lovely sight of Priah, standing at the edge of my bed scowling, arms crossed, tapping her foot impatiently.

I pushed myself up onto my elbows and stared impatiently at her while she met my look with one of her own... a glare. "Yes?" I deadpanned wondering why she was upset with me. She continued to glare at me accusingly. "There is NO WAY I'm gonna miss another party for you. And there is also no way you are missing this party." She declared sassily.

She paused for a second and then continued, "And don't even think about arguing  with me because as you very well know, I will drag your ass all the way to the party on a leash." She sneered, readjusting her arms so her hands now rested on her hips. Her new stance gave off a 'no bullshit' vibe that told me I would, one way or another be going to this party tonight. "And if that's unsuccessful I'll call Collin down here to do it for me, as you know he would." She smirked knowingly. Collin was a friend of hers, he's a giant football player. The poor guy was practically wrapped around her finger and she knew it.

I groaned in protest collapsing back down into my bed, "Priah you know I don't like parties." It was already late in the first semester and I had successfully avoided any and all parties, despite my party obsessed roommate. What she had said before was true, I had kept her from going to parties before, but only because she usually refused to go without me. This sadly just made her more determined to get me to one.

Pouting she wined "Parties are an essential college experience and I'm too good of a roommate to let you miss out on it..." Knowing she still hadn't convinced me she started to beg. "Come on Abby, please just go to this one." Her voice suddenly got very high, "You know, you can get a little drunk..." once she saw my face she quickly corrected her mistake as she lowered her voice to normal. "Or don't... just do whatever and have fun for once. All you do is eat, sleep, go to classes, and study. How boring is that?!? You need a night to relax and let loose." She bobbed her head slightly while moving her hands in a wave motion.

I could agree with her on that, I did need a night of fun. "Ok" I finally agreed, ignoring her strange hand motion and head bobbing. She squealed in delight, "But..." I said raising my hand in the air to stop her squealing. She sighed knowing I would have conditions. "If I go to this party....one- you will never bug me about going to another ever again, and two- if I want to leave, you leave with me right away, ok?" Her smile stretched so wide for a second I thought she was going to break her face. Then she started jumping excitedly "YES DEAL!"

"Up up up, time to start getting ready" She chirped, clapping every time she said up. "I threw an outfit on your bed for you, and oh I'm so excited!" I propped myself up on my elbows staring at her dumbfounded. "What do you mean 'start getting ready', what time is it? And how long does it take to get ready, I mean I couldn't have been asleep that late, it's still light outside!" I questioned looking at her as if she was completely crazy.

"Well you slept really late and it's a little past 3:00 now... but, we are going to get dinner beforehand with Collin and his friend Steven, so we need to be ready by 7:00 for dinner at 7:30 which leaves us about four hours to get ready... so get up now." She talked, mostly to herself, and went over the plan for tonight. My jaw went slack as I processed the information she had just given me "God Priah really? Like damn four hours!"
