HAMLET
William Shakespeare;
William Shakespeare lived between 1564 and 1616. His birthday is not known, yet he died on the 23rd of May. He wrote several plays and theatres which variated between comedy and tragedy, yet, as I've noticed, there's always someone that dies.
He wrote 38 tragedies and 154 Sonettes.Summary;
The book 'Hamlet' is about Prince Hamlet of Denmark, a prince who's father died, but returns as a ghost. The ghost of Hamlets father tells him that his uncle, the husband of his mother, killed him. At first the prince of Denmark has no doubt, but this soon changes as he comes to think about if this ghost is really trustworthy. To figure this out, Hamlet sets up a play that repeats the exact murder of his father. After his uncle, Claudius, reacts rather badly to the play Hamlet is sure that Claudius really did kill his father. Hamlet proceeds to try and kill his uncle, yet ends up killing 6 other people in the process.
On the other hand, his uncle sends two friends to kill the prince. They plan to stab Hamlet with a poisoned knife, yet also prepare a cup of poison for him in case they do not succeed. Hamlet is stabbed, yet also manages to kill his rivals.
In joy of her son winning, the queen toasts by drinking the poisoned cup and dies.
Hamlet dies, too, yet is celebrated with a honorable funeral.Opinion;
I think that this book is very difficult to understand yet interesting. It includes a lot of depth and deeper meaning, so I'd definitely recommend to read it at least 2 times. I'd still say that people should definitely read it because it teaches a lot about fraud and betrayal. It was funny to read, even if it was complicated to understand the way that it was written. (Like a real play.) Hamlet himself is quite talkative, filling up complete pages with his speeches.
Still, it's really enchanting.Vocabulary;
