"Let's get married, Hayley."
"No."
"Wh-"
"Because I said no."
"Bu-"
"Absolutely not, Kai."
My boyfriend's face morphed quickly into confusion."What's holding you back?"
"I still haven't received my acceptance letter into Hogwarts. How can I move on that quickly?"
I heard a loud laugh boom from behind where Kai and I sat. I immediately recognized the voice as Val's.
"HA! REJECTED!" Val called out, "Wuess, let's do the rejected song!"
Rolling my eyes, I attempted to study for my finals while Weuss and Val chanted 'R-E-J-E-C-T-E-D, what does that spell? REJECTED! REJECTED! You just got REJECTED!'
My parents were out, luckily, and wouldn't be getting home until next week. Coincidentally (but also most likely planned), they decided to pop up at my front door.
They came back for me as they promised, but they only became more idiotic.
Hakuna Matata is now my mantra.
