Toni POV

I pulled into pops on my motorcycle. When i walked in it wasn't very busy like other nights.  I sat down at the main counter on one of the stools. I ordered a burger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. The Bell above the door rang, indicating that it was opening. I turned to look and I see a certain redhead walk through the door. There she stood, i was in awe. She sat on the stool next to mine, she made no eye contact, she didn't even say anything to me. She ordered a strawberry shake with a burger and fries. I was nearly done with my food when she finally said something. She turned her stool slightly, she kept her face focused on her plate. It seemed as if she couldn't bring herself to look at me, like if she saw i was hurt she would care.

"Im sorry "

her voice was light, almost like a whisper. Im surprised i heard her.

"W-what?"

I ask, taken back. Why was she apologising?

"Im sorry for calling you serpent scum.."

I giggle slightly, if she though that was bad she should hear what I've been called before.

"you could have said worse"

She smiled. God that smile made me feel a certain way about her. It was contagious, and absolutely beautiful.

"that doesn't make what i said ok"

She looked down again, her smile faded. It was a risk, but i took her hand in mine. She looked at me, a silent tear fell down her face. She seemed shocked that someone cared for her. Did she not have people that care about her?

"Hey, hun what's wrong?"

"I j-just..everyone thinks im this, h-heartless monster who doesn't give a damn about anyone or their feelings"

She started to break down, shaking slightly.

"Cheryl...that's not you, you are so much better than that..."

"How can y-you say that when i hurt you today?"

"Because i know, i know that wasn't the real Cheryl..."

Her phone rang

"I-i gotta go"

With that...she left and so did I. After i paid pop for both meals I got on my bike and rode off, back to the southside until morning...
