Hell's Wrath

There was a fire.
There was a fire at Sam's current high school.
The building had been evacuated. Mostly.
Sam was just about to join the rest of his class on the other side of the street from the burning building when he heard a shrill scream.
The building went up in flames so quickly.
The building went up in flames so quickly that the firemen weren't even there yet.
Sam looked back and saw a teacher had gotten caught inside. Her left leg was trapped between some burning planks that had already started to fall.
Despite the screaming of everyone on the other side of the street, Sam ran back to the teacher at the entrance of the school to help the teacher.
She young teacher was free in seconds but Sam could already tell her ankle was broken.
Sam coughed harshly and was about the help the teacher to join the rest of the school when he heard everyone scream in horror. Soon everything went black and Sam felt very very warm.

Dean saw the news broadcast before he got the phone call.
He had dropped the canned items he had been restocking at his current grocery store job when the breaking news flashed across the TVs.
There was a fire at Sam's school.
Sam had been helping a hurt teacher and a burning beam had landed on him. The news crew came just in time to catch Sam going down on live television. Sam had been oblivious.
Dean got to watch as the paramedics pulled the 13 year old boy out from under the beam and onto a gurney. Sam's nose was bleeding heavily, his hairline was covered in fresh, crimson blood. The boy's eyes were half open but completely unfocused.
Dean wanted to throw up.
Without any explanation, he ran outside to his car and drove to the hospital the news reporter said the injured victims would be taken to.
He didn't care if he got fired.
He didn't care if he got a ticket.
He didn't really even care if he got into an accident himself.
All he cared about was getting to Sam.
Because Sam had to be okay.
Sam had to fight.
Sam just had to.
