When I entered the building, I felt really uncomfortable. It was way too quiet. The only sound I could hear was a watch ticking, so I decided to walk towards the sound. I walked into the hallway and it was really dark. I almost couldn’t see a thing. The only light in the hallway was a light coming from the history classroom. I walked towards the door and opened it. “Oh my God, Caroline!” I gasped and I ran towards my friend. She was tied to her chair and there were pencils in her hands. There was also a cloth inside her mouth and I could smell it was soaked with vervain. “Who did this to you?” I asked her as I start to untie her. I saw fear in her eyes and before I could even turn around, I was knocked of my feet and I lost consciousness.
When I woke up again, I felt a burning pain in my hands and I opened my eyes. “Damn it!” I hissed and I felt my arms were just like Caroline’s tied to the chair. I heard someone laugh and I snapped my head up to look in the direction the sound came from. “What? Dad? How is this possible?” I asked him and he grinned, but it wasn’t his nice and warm grin, it was an evil grin. It was like there was no single emotion left inside of him. “Someone fed me.” He said and he walked towards me. “Why are you doing this, dad?” I asked him and he frowned. “I am not your father, Olivia. I lost my daughter when you became a monster.” He said and I shook my head. “I am not a monster. I never killed someone and I never would.” I said and he rolled his eyes. “It is normal for you to kill. You will eventually. But you are not here so we could have a nice talk.” He said and he grabbed my phone out of my pocket. “Who are you calling?” I asked him, but he didn’t answer me. I looked at Caroline and I saw she was already looking at me. “Don’t worry, we’ll get out.” I whispered and she nodded slowly. “Hello?” I heard a voice say and I would dare to bet it was Elena’s voice. “Come to the school, if you ever want to see your friends alive again.” My dad said and I shook my head. How did this happen. This is even worse than him dying. Everything good that was inside of him is gone. He doesn’t have any emotions left. I didn’t quit followed the conversation, because the next thing I saw, was my dad putting my phone on his desk and he looked at me. I don’t want to do this, but I really have to if I want to get out here. I focused on him and he laughed at me. “Don’t even try, Olivia. Your magic won’t work on me.” He said and I glared at him. He walked towards a glass and put a cloth in it. Oh no. He walked towards me and put the cloth inside my mouth. It burned like hell, but I didn’t want him to have the satisfaction of seeing me in pain. I pressed away my tears and he grinned. “You were always a stubborn girl. Let’s see if this helps.” He said and he grabbed a gun. I shook my head, but he didn’t listen. He pulled the trigger and I felt the burning pain again. I tried to scream, but with the cloth in my mouth, it only hurt worse. He shot again and again and was breathing heavily. I heard someone enter the building and I felt relieved. There is Elena. She will get us out of here. Elena entered the class a few minutes later and she looked at us with fear in her eyes. My ‘dad’ told her she had to stake Caroline and me, but she was smart enough to throw the glass with vervain in his face. She quickly untied Caroline and me and we ran towards the door, but when Caroline was out of the classroom, he was already in front of us. “Not so fast.” He said and he closed the door again. “Please, don’t do this. I know my father who loved me is still inside there.” I said and he laughed. “You are so naïve.” He said and Elena gave me a sign I had to distract him for a little while. “No, I know you. You are stronger than this stupid spell. You love me! Remember all the times you were there for me? And remember all the times I didn’t listen to you and I got into trouble? You never were mad at me. You always told me to learn from my mistakes. I know you can break this stupid curse.” I said and his smile grew wider. “Hey, Alaric!” Elena said and he turned around. Elena tried to stake him, but he was faster and threw her against the counter and she lost consciousness.
