Finally Starting Somewhere

Moonstar! Wake up! You have to go to school, you know!

---------------------------------------------------

I woke up to sheep baa-ing and cows moo-ing. I removed the dirt to meet with sunlight in my eyes.

"Ah!" I quickly put my hand over my eyes and cautiously went outside. I immediately picked up a ton of zombie flesh.

I looked at the amount. 58 zombie flesh!? That many zombies got attracted to me!? This is unusual....

Well, can't be diddly-daddlying around, gotta start building a house. I thought. I made a new sword that was made of stone and started traveling west where- hopefully- many trees can be found.

Luckily, I found a forest biome with tons of trees to pick from. I looked for an axe, but realized- I didn't make one!

I made a quick crafting table and made a stone axe with some cobblestone. I cut down my favorite type of trees from the forest and ran back home. I crafted a ton of planks- 5 stacks in total- and made a traditional cozy little house. With the rest of the planks I made chests which I put in my cobblestone and dirt.

After making a house I started mining again. This time I was ready with a ton of stone pickaxes (and one iron pickaxe- I didn't like to waste my iron), 4 stone shovels, an iron sword and some armor I crafted with the leftover iron.

I was mining a strip mine for like an hour when I hit a zombie dungeon. Zombies came at me and killed them all with my sword. I looked through the chests and took everything except name tags- that might come later.

Mining all the mossy cobblestone from the dungeon I opened up a mineshaft.

Aw sweet! I thought excitedly. I explored through the mineshaft and ended back up with 21 iron, 15 gold, 1 emerald and- 8 diamonds!

When I came up there was still some time left before sundown so I decided to make a farm. I crafted some buckets and headed to the sea so I could fill them up with water. When I came back I made a infinite water source so that I wouldn't have to come all the way to the sea to get water.

I tilled the dirt and placed the water- now the farm was set. I placed some seeds I found in a chest somewhere and put some sugarcane, too. I'll have food for life!

Sunset came at me like a bomb. I ran back inside and laid in my bed. Nightfall arrived (and it was fashionably late, I might add) and I could finally close my eyes.

---Dream---

I was carried by someone older and larger than me.

Mom.

I could feel her beating heart pounding against her chest as she ran to the only safe room she could think of.

My sister's room.

She closed the door and sat down, thankful for the few seconds of rest. She stood up and then froze at the sound of thudding.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

"God, save me.. save Moon... please..." she said as she touched my face. As soon as she said those words, something brightened up and luminated the room with its' white light.

Mom looked towards the source. It was a computer, with a hard drive and a mouse and everything.

I heard my Mom's thoughts. 'Weird,' she thought. 'I thought I shut it down earlier. Maybe-'

She was quickly interrupted by the computer. "Hurry!" it said.

"W-what?" my mom stammered.

"Send the kid!" the computer said, impatience flooding its' words.

"Why?" Mom asked, surprised at the confidence in her voice.

"No time! They're getting closer!" the computer shouted. As if on cue, the door thudded again and part of it broke off. Mom quickly turned around and horror struck her face. I managed to turn my head and see the face I've come to know well.

Zombies. Each one of them terrifying than the last.

Mom looked at the computer then back to the door. She placed me carefully on the keyboard and grabbed a photo from a bedside table. Upon closer inspection, I gasped in my head at the sight of the same picture that has been with me since the beginning.

She picked me up and handed me to the computer. "Save her!" she cried, tears streaming down her face.

I heard a voice out of nowhere. "Mommy! Don't leave!" I was surprised to find out it was mine.

"Hush, it's okay." Mom said with a calming voice so soothing it made me almost believe it was actually true.

She brought me closer to the computer and bright light flooded my vision. I felt a whoosh as something pulled me away from my mom and into the unknown. "Mooooommy!" I screamed as I tore away from Mom and into an unwelcoming atmosphere.

But not before I saw two pupil-less eyes watch me from behind.
