(A/N: Hey, a new story! Hope you like it <3)

Colours danced around me, lights flashed before my eyes, the pounding of the bass filled my ears making my head throb, but still I jumped up and down, waving and screaming like a maniac. Some kind of alcoholic drink was in my hand and I was definitely drunk and high. I couldn’t really remember, but I think I took some of the pills that were being passed around. In fact, I couldn’t even remember whose house I was in.
I stopped dancing and staggered into the kitchen. I was really hungry and I needed to take a piss. Everything was wavering in front of me and my head felt like a hammer had been at it. To my shock, a red head appeared in front of me looking concerned. Her face was out of focus and I could barely look at her.
“Are you okay? Hello? Katya?” The girl waved her hand in front of my face but it went blurry. I think I mumbled something but I’m not sure what. The girl sighed and started to drag me away.
“W-wait! I’m… hungry!” Well, that’s what I tried to say anyway. It came out more like a moan.
“You’re clearly drunk. I’m getting you out of here.” Did I even know this girl?
“Who are you?” I asked. What if she was a rapist? Was she going to kill me? I started to struggle against her but she had a tight grip on me. I suddenly felt weak and I stopped fighting her. A wave of nausea swept over me and I puked all over her cute jacket.
“Oops,” I said wiping my mouth. She looked disgusted but presumed to tug me outside of the house. There were people passed out all over the lawn and I’m sure I saw some of them having sex.
“Get a room!” I slurred, giggling. I let myself be pulled towards the curb where a shiny black car was waiting. The red head opened the door.
“Get in.” When I didn’t make any movement, she pushed me in. I landed on my face with a crunch.
“Ouch.” I rubbed my nose. That actually did hurt. The girl got in the driver’s seat and pulled away from the house.
“Don’t you dare puke in my car.” Why did she seem so mad? I still had no idea who she was. I soon forgot to care and I settled down into the leather seats. They were quite comfortable. As soon as I relaxed, I felt the alcohol and drugs take over my system and my eyes started closing on their own. Before long I was in a deep sleep.

Oh my God, I felt like I’d been run over by a truck! I groaned and rolled over but that was a mistake as I ended up rolling off of the edge of the bed.
“Shit!” I cursed holding my head. Wait… how did I get home? What happened? I couldn’t remember anything from last night and I slightly panicked.
The door suddenly slammed open and a pissed off Malia walked in holding two aspirins and a cup of water. Her red hair was a mess and she looked like she hadn’t slept at all.
“What are you doing on the floor?” she frowned at me and slammed the cup on the dressers.
“What’s wrong? Why are you so mad?” I groaned and sat back on the bed.
“Hmm, let me think! Maybe, because you got so drunk and stoned last night I had to drag you home? Oh! I forgot the best part! You puked all over me. That’s why I’m mad!” My eyes widened. Did that really happen? I gave her a sheepish smile.
“I’m sorry Malia. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.” She just shook her head in disgust.
“You know, you have a problem.” I raised my eyebrows at her.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“You know full well what I’m talking about, Katya! And one of these days I’m not going to be here to pick up your shit!” I sat there, frozen in shock. She stared at me for a while before sighing and slamming the door behind her, leaving me alone.
Did I have a problem? I’d never thought of it as a problem before, but maybe she’s right. I stood up, sighing and I quickly swallowed the pills down. I went into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror, almost screaming in shock. I looked terrible! My face was an ashen white, my eyes blood red but they looked hectic, wild. I had definitely taken some kind of drug last night.
I turned away from the mirror and got into the shower, washing my blonde hair. Half way through, I found a weird powder in my hair. Jesus Christ, what did I do last night? I got out quickly, feeling slightly more refreshed. My head wasn’t as muggy, which, in itself, was a miracle.
I dressed in the first pieces of clothing I found and walked quickly downstairs and into the kitchen. Malia was there with two pieces of toast. She passed them to me without a word. I smiled at her gratefully but she ignored me. Man, I really must have hurt her feelings this time.
I sat down and began eating my toast slowly, thinking about how I could apologise.
“Okay, so are you able to look after yourself now?” she sniffed and got up, car keys in hand.
“Malia,” I begged. “Please, I’m sorry. If you hadn’t have been there last night, something really bad could have happened to me. You’re my best friend and like my sister. If you hate me, I don’t know what I would do.” I looked her straight in the eyes as I said this, and I could see her melt. She stepped forwards and wrapped her arms around me.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
I pulled away and was shocked to see the tears in her eyes.
“Why are you crying?” I reached up to wipe her tears away from her cheeks.
“I’m so worried about you, Katya. Every day I watch you destroy yourself with drugs and alcohol and I don’t know what to do!” I felt a pang of guilt as I saw her beating herself up because of me.
“Don’t worry about me Malia.” That’s all I could say. I knew I took drugs. I knew I drank alcohol. But she shouldn’t be worrying about me. She should be worrying about herself. It’s not her fault that I did this to myself.
The thing is, I have a secret. A dangerous, huge secret. I would be killed if it were to get out.
The memories that come with this secret are what caused me to take drugs and drink alcohol. All I wanted to do is forget.
The truth is…
I’m a murderer.
