It's been an hour and mother isn't home yet. I pick at the stale bread on my plate. I gulped back some of the milk I got from Lady a few minutes ago. I rest the cracked, glass, cup back onto the table as I wiped my milk moustache off with the back of my hand. I start to pick at the hem of the dress, where there was dried mud stuck. I knew I was just trying to distract my self from the day ahead.

My eyes slowly dropped sending me into a dark pit of sleep.

A sudden crash at the door made me jump, nearly leaving me tumble to the floor. I rub the sleep from my eyes. How long was I out? A numerous amount of knock filled the room, creating me and Gale's secret knock, to let each other know it's us.

"Come in!" I half yawned half shouted. The door opened, revealing Gale's muscular body. "Hey Prim!" He sighs, wedging the door back into the door frame. "So your mother is helping a boy who split his knee in the Hob. She told me to bring you to the reaping. "

Memories of last year flooded back to me. I let out a slight whimper. " Prim, they won't pick you." he said. " Gale, you don't know that, Do you?! Since it's the Quarter Quell, the rules have changed! Only the sibling of the fallen tributes will be reaped! And guess what, I will be in that small group, of pitied children. " I'm in tears now. Gale cradles me in his arms. " Prim, we all miss her okay...........but that doesn't mean your destiny is to also die in those games!!" he exclaimed, tears in both our eyes. "Come on, let's go. I told Rosalyn I would walk with her." I shuffle to the door, followed by Gale.
