A Day Like No Other

Chapter 2

Sweat began to form on my eyebrow, starting to trickle down the side of my face. Dominic is in my Chem class I thought. Let's hope he sits in the same spot since Mr. Smith hadn't assigned a seating chart yet.

I did my usual routine and ran to school. I longed to see Dominic again, crazy as it sounds.

The day was almost over, and sixth period was about to begin. I headed to my seat and waited until Dominic came. As the other student filed in, anticipation grew. What is he wearing, how is he going to smell, how is his hair styled?

Dominic finally came, him being the last one in. And to my liking, he sat in the seat from yesterday, the desk RIGHT in front of me. I wanted to lean in and smell his neck, knowing it would smell like strong cologne. But we all can't get what we wanted.

"Hello fellow pupils, today we will be performing out first lab."

The classroom began to be filled with a mixture of groans, rolled eyes, and even a guy in the back saying," Can I kill myself yet?"

"I know you guys are excited but let me fill you in on the procedures. If we ever work with solutions, it's mandatory to wear a pair of lab goggles. No eating or drinking during a lab. And we do labs in pairs of two. Lucky for you guys, you guys can pick your partner each time we have a lab."

Everyone began looking at each other, nodding their heads gently to show approval. But not Dominic, he just sat there. He even started playing with his smooth, silky  brown hair.

Damn he's hot.

" Well, get up and pick your partners. You have two minutes."

Everyone began scrambling around picking their partners. This could be my chance to pick Dominic, if he wants to partner up. I got up, and walked a few steps to the front, right beside Dominic's desk.

I grew the courage and opened my mouth," Wanna be partners?"

Dominic looked me in the face and said," Looks like I don't have a choice."

I hadn't done anything to him, and yet he's already starting to dislike me. Great.

We began working on our lab. I obtained the materials and Dominic started prepping the station. All we had to do was grab various objects/elements, mass them, and figure out measurements and things of that sort. We didn't even exchange a glance throughout the whole period.

" I want you guys to finish the analysis questions and calculations for homework tonight. I will be collecting and grading them tomorrow."

Crap. I didn't even have all the data. Dominic did. I go up behind Dominic as he's putting things in his backpack and say," Hey, umm can I have the rest of the data?"

"Actually, I was going to ask if you'd be willing to finish the lab at my house. You don't have to if you don't want to."

A smile formed on my face, my cheeks turning red. This could be the chance to get to know him a little more.

"Sure."

"Great. I can give you a ride to my place if you want."

I didn't have a car so I said," Sure."

As we walked to the parking lot, a thousand thoughts began popping in my head. What if he finds out I'm gay. Will he out me? Will he be disgusted? Will he beat me up? I shook my head and discarded these thoughts. I can't be negative, especially when I'm going to the house of an incredibly attractive guy.
