Derek's POV

I stand at the huge window in my loft, waiting for the sign of their return. I am about to lose my patience when I see the black SUV pull into my parking lot. I watch as Deaton gets out of the car. Followed by Isaac carrying an unconscious Abigail. I want to run out there and yell at them with all my might but at the same time I'm just happy they are home, and as of now, safe. I laugh a little to myself as I think of how tired Abigail must be to have fallen asleep and stay asleep while her brother carried her out of the car like a toddler.

I wait in silence for a few minutes before I hear my door open. I turn around and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The happy face that I thought I saw plastered on Isaac's face was really a grimace. I rush over to help take Abigail from him. Help him carry a burden that should've being took care of a long time ago.

"I thought you said they were fine." I state to Deaton angrily. He gives a shrug and shakes his head.

"Banged up? Yes. Will they be okay? Yes. So they are fine. She is fine. She will probably be out for a few more hours before she wakes up. If I were you, I'd find a way to tell Scott." He informs me. I nod my head ,agitated, but agreeing. I walk over to my bed and lay Abigail gently across it. I sit down beside her and pull out my phone and dial Scott's number.

It rings twice before he answers.

"What's wrong?" Scott immediately asks apon answering. I take a deep breath and think about my reply. He can't hear my heartbeat through the phone. So I lie.

"Nothing. I just need you to come by the loft." I say surprisingly calmer then I expected.

"You call me at 2 A.M. to tell me nothing is wrong, to come to the loft. Derek you're lying. What's. Wrong?" He growls.

"It's the twins." I say barely audible. But it was loud enough for him to hear.
I hear the phone drop on the other end and footsteps running away.

Thunder sings its morbid song in the distance.

Scott's POV

Everything is a blur. I can't focus on anything. I'm just sure I'm alive because the only thing that is clear in the chaos is my heart beating loudly in my ears. I'm numb to the downpour smashing against my skin as I speed way too fast down the road on my dirt bike. I dropped my helmet at home and there was no time to put it on. Only a few streets away now anyways. Lightning hits a transformer on a nearby telephone pole, sending sparks flying everywhere. I pull the throttle harder and come in hot on Derek's street. When I pull into the parking lot I'm moving as fast as I can to get to them. One flight of stairs. Two flights. Three. Four. Five. All the way up to Seven.

I burst through the door, soaked, and breathing hard. I scan the room and see Isaac standing over an unconscious Abigail.

"How could you let this happen?!" I yell at Isaac. He winches at my words.

"Scott please calm down. Once she wakes up we can explain." He says, his words stressed.

"I don't need to calm down!" I yell. I see movement out of the corner of my eye and before I realize what's happening I'm being knocked to the ground.

"I didn't ask you to come so you could make this situation worse than it already is." Derek growls from on top of me. "Look at yourself Scott! You should just be glad that they are back!" Derek holds up my hand and I see my claws in their entirety. I try and push him off but he doesn't budge.

"Do you even know the hell that I went through?" I say defeated. Derek sighs and gets up.

"Scott I'm so-" Isaac is cut off by Deaton.

"Scott the things you did, you did them to yourself. You have to realize that and take responsibility for your actions because, I promise you the twins went through much worse than you." He says flatly. I start to answer back but I hear a sudden rapid heartbeat. And I know I'm not the only one who hears it because Derek and Isaac are looking in the same direction as I am. At Abigail.

As her heartbeat rises, her body begins to convulse on the bed.
