as the Chinese attempted their rule through Vietnam

Le and Tran came back as before, and expanded the territory higher,
Then Mac came and turned the place over to division and lord rule.
The Tay Son Rebellion secured a Mac defeat and to
A new dynasty wanted to expand through China and the kingdom of Angkor.
They fail and all the leaders were scattered,
As Nguyen Dynasty took it's rise.
Gia Long ruled and expanded too,
But his son was even better.
He invaded Laos and Cambodia to a new country called Dai Nam.
Then he left and Vietnam shrunk,
His descendants were more weaker.
French Navy came and took no haste and made Vietnam their own
In the year 1858.
T'was a new end to another era,
