I grabbed my lock, which was hanging on the locker door and shut it, remembering to close the lock, and not just hang it there. Last time that happened my locker was under quarantine as a breach had taken place when I was on break. I left my BLT and ice tea in there, and SCP-023 had thrown the door across the locker room just to get at it... we now have very strict rules on what goes in lockers.
I wish I had a better job other than being stuck in a cubicle, like working in the labs or maybe even being able to have the privilege to look at any sort of an SCP when it's not on a screen or paper. Remembering my job, I turned to my right and headed back down the identical rows of lockers, and out the door back into the clean white hallways. I walked for what seemed like forever until I reached the checkpoint into the office areas. I slid in my keycard, and a high pitch sound rang out, and the heavy doors slid open with a boom. The sound is played again, and the doors shut behind me and the sound echoes down the endless pathways. The hallways are now coated with two orange lines all the way down, and it has more of an office appearance, with benches and drink machines at easy access. Not far was my office. I inserted my keycard, and the door slid open.
I entered the large, busy room filled with other, identical characters sitting at their desks, walking about, using the printers, or anything you'd expect other office robots to be doing. I walked down the endless rows of people and desks until there was an empty one, my cubicle. I sat in my chair which by now was shaped to fit me exactly. Before me was a new pile of papers to go through, and my computer which was now booting up. While I was waiting for it to turn on, which takes forever, I reached for my black leather bag, opening the large flap, revealing more zippers underneath. Inside was my thermos, which I took out and swiftly opened. It was empty. I had no coffee to keep me awake, and I am still piss-tired from the night before. By now the computer was on, so I had opened the special SCP application, and gone to my projects and other things I had to complete. It was empty. Forgetting I had the papers on the side of my desk, I set my head down next to my keyboard out of pure exhaustion, and quickly dozed off. I don't know why I'm not fired yet.
Short part, I know, but there is some drama in the next part.
