Book: Chapter 1
"Hi Bestie" I said as I sat down on Ethan's bed
"Would you stop calling me bestie, it sounds so girly" He said, agitated
"Nope, because you're my best friend" I said, throwing my arms around him.
After I was finished practically suffocating him with my hug, he chuckled to himself, rolled his eyes and continued to scroll on his phone.
"So, where's Mom and Dad bestie?" Which was what I called his parents, since we were practically siblings.
"They're at work, and you're really not going to stop calling me that, are you?" He laughed
"Nope" I said, with a devious smirk.
"Fine" he sighed, "Looks like you're going to have to pay!" Then, he pulled me in for a bear hug and started tickling me. I screamed and struggled, while laughing hysterically.
Eventually we were on the floor, and I broke free of his hold. As his body hovered over mine I could feel his warm breath on my neck. He looked up into my eyes, and without thinking I went in for a kiss. Then he drew back and started to sing the tune of my alarm, and I instantly knew it was merely another dream.
I lay in the bed for an extra five minutes, dreading to have to get up and face another day of hell. Finally I managed to roll over to check my phone for Ethan's Good Morning text. Even though he sends it every morning, I always seem to blush.
"Good Morning Hannah, I hope u hav an amazing day ☀️☀️☀️. Meet me behind school at lunch. Okay? Bye!!!" It read.
Even though Ethan had third lunch and I had first, he always managed to sneak out of class using some excuse.
I then realized I was running late as usual, and if I didn't hurry I would miss the bus. After reading Ethan's text one more time and kissing my phone like a complete fangirl, I ran to the shower.
After throwing on an Asking Alexandria tank top, some ripped black skinny jeans, black Vans, and a few wristbands, I stood to stare at myself in the mirror. I knew I was very skinny, but I always considered myself fat. I was your typical "scene-emo"; dyed blue hair, always wearing black, angel bites and two helix piercings, and I had disgusting pasty white skin. My appearance always reminded me that Ethan would never like me in that way. He was a skateboarding blonde, with a cute boyish smile, no piercings, and wasn't nearly as white as me.
After poking at every imperfection on my body like I do everyday, I ran downstairs to catch the bus.
I hated riding the bus, but I honestly had no choice, my Mom had to be to work at 6, and my hateful brother would never give me a ride.

As I stared out the window of the bus, anxious of the bullying that would come as soon as I stepped through those school doors, I wondered what type of mischief Ethan and I would get into after school. I may even tell him that I love him today. But that happening, just like this morning, that is nothing but a dream.
