December 25th
I woke up in a bright white room. No, not white. Beige, of all colors.
I stood up and took in my surroundings. I wasn't too concerned. The only malignant thing in the room appeared to be the interior decorating. Besides, if someone wanted me dead, they would have killed me by now. Something else was going on.
There was a small window on the door. I rapped my knuckles against it and tried to gauge the material. Glass? I dragged a lamp out of the corner of the room and slammed it against the window. No, it couldn't be glass. It didn't shatter.
"Hello!" I yelled and pounded on the door. "I'm awake! You can come out now!"
Silence."You know, you could have at least left some sort of entertainment. A book, a movie... even a word search would have been nice."
No response. I rolled my eyes.
"You might as well tell me what's going on!" I kicked the wall in frustration. "Some sort of note could have been helpful!"
I noticed a small mirror in the corner. I ran over to it and picked apart my reflection.
"How...?"Somehow, my thick brown hair had been brushed and braided back. I shivered and ran my hand over my head, trying to ignore the fact that someone else had touched it only hours ago.
"This isn't funny." My patience was starting to wear thin. I slammed my hand into the door and screamed. Pain shot through my fingers, but I didn't care. "Let me out!"
Suddenly, my arm was numb.
"What the..."
I looked down and realized that there was a round sphere embedded in my shoulder. It was pulsing and draining some sort of liquid into my body. Oh no. This was how it ended. Why didn't I shut up and cooperate? Maybe they would have kept me around if I didn't try to escape. I would never know.
Tears sprang into my eyes. No. I wasn't going to die. Not yet. I dug my fingernails into my shoulder and tore at the skin around it.
"Come on!" It was beginning to loosen, but the dark purple liquid had almost completely left the sphere.
My eyes drooped, and my body couldn't support its weight anymore. I collapsed to the ground as everything around me faded into darkness.
