Sophie didn't know what to think as she was called down to the office by Lacey Emrick, The Adoption Center's owner.

She was only minding her own business; Playing with a few of the stuffed animals and listening to the radio in the appropriate nursery room. (She was long gone from her first nursery when she turned three.)

A song she didn't even know of came on, but Sophie enjoyed every single song she'd ever listened to in her seven and a half years of life; She was pretty much addicted to music.

Music was always like a breath of fresh air for this little girl.

Anyway, Sophie was playing by herself; having a Tea party with her favorites; Mrs. Ellie Phantom (Stuffed elephant with a shiny pink bow on it's trunk), Homer (Stuffed Badger), and Mr. Joseph Wiggletoeswhopickshisnose the IIII (Stuffed bunny with a tophat and fake bifocals).

She was alone due to all of the children playing outside in the small playground. Since she was rarely outside, she wondered how her skin tone was like the way it was; Dark but toned just like Caramel...but there was a big white spot on her shoulder that sort of embarassed her.

This spot had started out small, but eventually grew bigger over time. What used to be a very small dot turned into a huge blotch nearly covering her entire shoulder. Sophie thought this was normal, so she didn't tell anyone...and something told her not to tell.

Sophie smiled at Mr. Joseph Wiggletoeswhopickshisnose and poured him a second helping of pretend-tea.

"Would you like more tea, Wiggles?" She offered, her voice as smooth as silk.

Of course, Mr. Wiggletoeswhopickshisnose's name was shortened to Wiggles. Not that he minded.

"Oh, yes! That would be lovely, Miss Sophie!" Mr. Wiggles chirped, his tone very happy and high-pitched as usual. His happiness increased, if possible, as Sophie poured his tea. "Thank you so much!! Your tea is very delicous!"

Sophie pretended to be flustered at his compliment. Her smile turned into a grin as the other members of the tea party 'ooooooohhhhhhhh'ed at Mr. Wiggles.

"Don't thank me! Thank my assistant, Ellie! She's the one who made the tea!" Sophie told Wiggles, trying to push all of the credit to her 'assistant.' She loved attention, but she also resented it because of easy embarassment.

Ellie giggled beside her, "Miss Sophie, You're too kind! I only brewed the stuff! You prepared it, and you made the sugar just right. So don't thank ME for anything! Thank yourself!"

"I concur!" Homer agreed.

Sophie, being the child she is,  actually blushed at all the compliments. She giggled and adjusted her big red floral hat on her head so that her eyes were covered.

"Oh, Stop it you! You're making me--" She started to say, but then the intercom in the room blared in the room, startling her and her guests.

"Sophie Doe, Please report to Ms. Emrick's office. Sophie Doe."

Sophie glared up at the speaker and turned to her guests, softening her face as they groaned in aggarvation; None of them wanted to end this tea party with their favorite tea-maker.
