"Maybe you should try writing all of those in diaries" Cassy suggested after she heard all my stories for this day.

I glared at her and rolled my eyes. "You know that's a yuck!" I hissed.

"Then, cease telling me them all!" she snarled and turned away.

I sighed and rolled my eyes again. She always like backing out when she's mad. What a fuss.

Cassy is one year older than me. That I guess is the reason why we always have fights and quarrels. Sibling rivalry, Mom once said. But Cassy isn't the mean big sister who always start a brawl and riot. It was me. Almost everyday, I never missed a time to annoy and bug her. I, do even stole her newly brought shoes and dresses and wear it in front of her which really drive her nuts. And I'm loving it. But  whenever Mom and Dad came for a rescue, she's always blamed.

But we doesn't always fight. We do have some girl bondings too (If I am in the mood). We even share bedroom and barbie dolls and teddies. We do shopping and malling and some girly stuffs. It's just that in between that times, I can't stop myself nudging her.

I remembered the  time when we had our greatest fight ever.

***

It was 13 years ago, she's 8 and I'm 7 years old when she received a large teddy from the boy in our neighborhood, who had same age as her and had crush on her. I saw that time, how her cheeks reddens and flushed. I knew it. She had a crush on the boy too!

Bad idea popped on my head. Like a bulb in commercial when someone had an idea about something. Later that afternoon, I spied them to know what will happen. It'll be fun! I mused to myself. She gave the box to the boy, which supposedly should contain a ball, but to the boy's surprise, it wasn't.

"Waaaahhh! A snake!" he screamed and ran away. The box fell on the ground and Jenica stared at it, awestruck.

I can't help myself but laugh that time in the corner. I was looking at Cassy's direction and how she cried that time, and laugh again. Then, she turned around and eyed me, with her eyes burning red. I've never seen her eyes like that. It's as if, she can eat you wholly with that look.

She marched toward me with heavy steps. I stopped laughing when I saw her stood in front of me.

"You did that, didn't you?" she growled. I never heard that voice before. How strange. "Answer me! Why did you do that?" she added.

"Uhm, I don't know?" I sassed. Her face looked more furious then suddenly, it softens.

"Are you happy now Jacque?" she said melancholy. Her eyes began to well again. "I hope you are."

She turned away, sobbing. I suddenly felt guilty and ran after her.

"Cassy wait. I'm sorry. It's not a real snake. It's just a prank--"

My last word made her turn. She's now looking more enraged and her reddens eyes were now scary. Then she shrieked. "A prank? Woah! Great job little sis, you made us all laugh!"

She walked away again and I was left outside. What have I done? I asked myself. I really felt guilty.

"Wait!" I said as I tried to chase her again. She was on the stairs, heading to our room. I ran with all my might to catch her who was now shutting the door. I succeeded.

"Nini, please. I'm sorry okay. I'm sorry" I uttered sincerely, calling her in her nickname. She was looking at me again, her eyes filled with sadness, angriness and disappointment. She shook her head. The door between us shut.

Mom and Dad walked into our room that night. Cassy didn't came out for dinner and Mommy was really worried. They asked me what had happened and I told them all the truth. After we ate, they climbed to our room and shut the door without letting me in.

"It was always her fault, Mommy! Not mine"

"Hush honey. We knew. She told us" Mommy beamed.

"She did that?" Cassy asked confusedly.

"Uh-huh"

Then I left the door and head to the terrace to think of what I am doing lately. I'm such a mean little sister. I was.

Dad suddenly appeared on the door, looking at me concernedly. He have with him his understanding sky-blue eyes.

I ran towards him and sobbed. "Daddy, I'm sorry. I'm such a bad girl. I'm sorry. Is Mommy mad at me now?" I inquired in succession.

Daddy pushed my shoulder to free him from my tight hugs. My shoulders fell and I got so sad. He must have been mad at me too. But to my surprise, Dad kneeled making us equal in height for a moment.

"Honey, Mommy isn't mad. It's just that she's worried what's happening with you. Why did you do that to your sister?" he said.

"I'm sorry Daddy. But I'm. . ." I stopped hesitating for a moment. But Daddy looked at me, his eyes persuading me to tell him why. "I'm jealous of her!"

Dad's taken aback with what I've  just revealed. It's true! I'm jealous of her. She was always the apple of the eye. She's the only beautiful, the only good in everything. She's being praised for everything while I got nothing but a smile.

"Jacque, darling, listen to Daddy, will you? You have no reason to be jealous of your big sister. We both love you equally"

"No Daddy. You love her more! You and Mommy and Keenan!" I cried.

"You know that's not true" said a familiar voice from behind. I turned to see the owner of that voice.

"C-Cassy?" I still sounded glottal. I cleared my eyes from tears.

She was with Mommy. Her eyes were still red but no more tears. Mommy was smiling beside her. I ran to her and apologize.

"I'm sorry big sis. I won't do it again. I swear"

But it doesn't happen.

***

My mind came back to reality when someone had snapped fingers in between of my eyes.

"Hey!" You're thinking now!" she mocked. Now she learned how to tease too.

I glared at her and make face. My eyes shift to her hands. . .with my favorite chips.

"Whoa! Pic-A!" I shrieked and ran towards her to pick myself a handful of it. But, she swiftly moved the plastic away from me.

She shook her head and made a 'tsk' sound. "Sorry little sis. Mom ordered" then laughed.

I frowned at her and marched back to bed. "I hate you both! I snapped.

She was still laughing while I buried myself in my pillow. Then I heard the door creaked and someone spoke in the room.

"Who has no chips?" the voice cussed. It was Dad. Ugh! Do they really have to tease me now? I threw my face up to heed them and I wasn't prepared to be surprise.

"Dad brought you some!" he said sweetly while holding chips in his hand. Mom was behind him, hands on her hips.

"Daddy! You know she can't eat that!" she said.

Dad turned to face her. Still smiling. "Just once" he said but his voice was meant for a whisper.

Mom eyed him and rolled her eyes. "Oh whatever! But just for now! Clear? The two of you?" Her discourse was of course for me and Daddy.

I stood from my bed, prepared for a hand salute. "Aye Aye Captain!" Dad and I chorused. We all laughed.
