It wasn't a long flight but Khalil was happy to finally be off the plane and inside of the Alabama airport. The crew followed behind him as they picked up their luggage from baggage claim then head out of the terminal to the waiting uber driver outside. It was a large
SUV with enough space for them all. Khalil and Migo packed the luggage into the trunk while the girls climbed inside.
"I can't believe we're really going to Auburn!"
O'Shea exclaimed, all glittery as she sat in the far back next to Kaia.
"I can't believe Pastor Washington actually gave you permission to come." Ali stated, looking back at them from her seat.
"Well, he said he talked to Mr. Law and if Mr. Law could assure we'll be safe with...wait, what's the guy's name?"
"The scout? His name is Mr. King. He's been friends with my dad since...forever. They're basically like brothers so I call him Uncle Ray." Ali explained.
"Well, if your dad can trust him, so can mine."
"What about you, Kai? Your mom cool with the trip? I asked Khalil but he never really likes talking about her."
Kaia smacked her lips and locked eyes with her. "That's cause it ain't your business. We're here, so we're good. Don't worry about it."
Ali just shook her head and watched as Kaia put her attention back on her iPhone, texting none other than Savage. O'Shea and Ali shared a look but no one said anything. This little beef with her man's sister was getting annoying. Ali figured Kaia had no reason to dislike her. Regardless, she wasn't gonna let the girl ruin her trip.Truth was, Clarissa and Tyrone had been going at it for days now. It's like she was obsessed with catching him cheating. Her attitude towards everyone in the house was effected by the situation. All she wanted to do was fight with him. Even when Khalil told her about the trip to Auburn, she said she didn't care as long as he didn't ask her for no money. Khalil was going to take care of everything on his own anyway but it hurt knowing that was all she cared about. Clarissa didn't even tell her son she was proud of him. Khalil wanted to keep all of his family drama and issues away from Ali.
"We'll get settled in our rooms then head to Mr. King's place for dinner. He's been waiting for us." Khalil told them.
After leaving the airport, they got on the freeway and headed north. Twenty minutes later, they were pulling into the parking lot of the Hilton hotel.
"Damn K, you ballin' or nah?" O'Shea asked as she looked up at the tall, magnificent building. She figured they'd be staying at a motel 6 but Khalil went above and beyond that. He wanted his friends to enjoy this experience just as much as he would.
The group waited in the extravagant lobby as Khalil went to the desk to retrieve the card keys. When he returned, he handed one key to Kaia and one key to Migo.
"You two are sharing." He told his twin and her best friend. He then pointed to Migo. "You got your own room and you," Khalil grabbed Ali's hand gently. "You're with me."
They shared a smile and O'Shea immediately began teasing them.
"Ooooh," she sang.
"Shut up, fam." Khalil blushed. "Let's go up to the rooms. We're all on floor seven."It was late in the evening, almost 9:30pm. Khalil had called the scout to maybe cancel due to the time but Mr. King insisted.
"You'll be too busy the rest of the weekend. My wife slaved in that kitchen all day for you kids. YOU GON' EAT! Besides, there's someone I want you to meet." He said.
They arrived at his modest two story home. The colonial structure and manicured lawn reminded Khalil of his own home back in Houston. The uber driver waved goodbye as they climbed out of the vehicle.
"It's nice to finally meet you, son." Said Raymond King with a full beard and pot belly. He was a tall fellow with a bald head but a charming personality. He shook Khalil's hand with a firm grip then moved aside so the kids could walk through. Ali was the last to enter.
"How you doing, Uncle Ray?" She grinned widely.
"So much better now, baby girl. It's been so long since I've last seen you."
"Too long." Ali agreed as he embraced her with a loving bear hug.
He guided them into the dining room area where they took a seat at the table. Mr. King took his seat at the head then called out to his wife.
"Lisa! Our guest have finally arrived."
A small petite woman who could be no taller than five feet even, emerged from the kitchen wearing a short hair bob, jeans, T-shirt and an apron. She carried a large bowl of Mac-N-Cheese in one hand and a bowl of cut green beans in the other.
"Oh, my baby!" Lisa yelled when she saw Ali. They embraced lovingly with big smiles after she sat the food on the table.
"It's good to see you, sweetheart. Y'all sit down and eat! Everything is ready."
While Lisa delivered the main course and took her seat, a tall Caucasian male emerged from the near by hall. He had straight blonde hair, clean skin, and bright blue eyes. He took a seat across from Khalil as Mr. King made the formal introductions. He put a strong hand on the guy's shoulder while smiling kindly.
"Son, I want you to meet Khalil Taylor, the QB I was telling you about. Khalil this is-"
"Bryce McCoy." Khalil answered, looking at the guy in awe. "1st string quarterback, all pro. You threw for over 400 yards last season and 450 this season already. A career high. Champion. Heisman trophy winner..." Khalil shook his head like he couldn't believe it. "Plus, you'll most likely be the top overall pick in this year's draft."
Bryce kind of chuckled. "No probability needed. I'll definitely be the overall pick. Looks like someone has done their homework." He smirked slightly before reaching over and shaking Khalil's hand.
"I wouldn't doubt it." Said Khalil.
"We have an afternoon game versus Virginia Tech tomorrow so Bryce is gonna show you around campus in the morning." Mr. King told them as everyone began eating.
"Sooo, is that an open invitation? I'd like to tour the campus." O'Shea said aloud with her eyes sparking as she smiled at Bryce.
"Of course. You're all welcomed to join." Bryce replied. He hoped no one noticed him picking at his plate. Soul food was never his thing.
Ali nudged O'Shea discreetly as the men talked amoungst themselves. "I didn't know you liked white boys."
"I like number one draft picks." She winked.
Little did she know Bryce had no appetite for dark meat.
"Sorry to cut this short but I should be heading out. I want to get a good night's rest before the game tomorrow." He told them, putting on his jacket.
"Oh...well okay. Thanks for stopping by, McCoy." Said Mr. King.
Bryce waved to everyone then Lisa got up to walk him out.
Khalil sensed his urgency and found it odd to leave so suddenly. They had just arrived and Bryce was ready to make his exit.
Mr. King shared a look with the young QB. A look that said they were thinking the same thing.
"Don't forget, son. This is Alabama. Things are somewhat different out here." King warned him. "If you're lucky enough to be here next year, you're gonna need some time to adjust."
"He must be cool enough to invite inside of your home, though, huh?" Asked Khalil, picking up on the point King was trying to make.
"Bryce has never given me a problem, personally, but I wouldn't put it past him. Once you meet his teammates tomorrow, you'll see what I mean. I wanted to get the two of you here, talk some football, get acquainted with one another but I guess he really had to go."
"Hmm." Khalil replied, making a mental note. Bryce McCoy was someone he admired on paper, someone he followed closely and looked up to. He planned on sitting back and watching how things play out.An hour later they caught an Uber ride back to the Hilton. Everyone returned to their respective rooms. Ali had to drag herself to the bed. Khalil chuckled and dropped to his knees as she sat on the edge of the bed. He began to remove her black boots. Ali had been worn out. After going to school, catching a flight and pushing through dinner at the Kings, her body was begging for rest. She could hardly keep her eyes open as she allowed Khalil to remove her jeans and shirt.
"You tired, babe?" He asked an obvious question.
"Nooo..." she lied. Khalil had started to nibble on her neck while gently laying her back.
"You sure?"
"Hmmm mmmm..." Ali placed her hands on the sides of his face and kissed him passionately. Hard to believe he'd yet to explore her body and bless her properly. Khalil had a lot on his plate, enough to keep him distracted. Tonight, there would be no distractions. Khalil just wanted to fuck her world up.
Their tongues intertwined. He used both his hands to pin hers down over her head. Ali was now trapped in his hold with her silky milk chocolate legs wrapped around him. Khalil kissed down her neck to her chest. Ali arched her back so Khalil could unclasp her bra. It came off with ease. With her hands now free, she grabbed on to him and pullled him closer.
"Daddy, I want it now. Right now." She breathed. Her body was no longer begging for rest, it was begging for Khalil to knock her walls down.
Her urgency turned him on even more. He sat up briefly to remove his shirt. That's when Ali rolled him over and straddled him.
"You move too slow." She teased while undoing his belt buckle and jeans, pulling them down. Just as she went to unleash the beast within his briefs, there was a knock on the door.
"Fuck!" He cursed. "Who is it?"
"K. It's me. Open the door." Said his twin.
"Bruh, what?! You kinda interrupting something right now."
He watched as Ali rolled her eyes and took Khalil's shirt, slipping it on. It stopped almost mid thigh and he couldn't deny how sexy she looked in his garments. He bit down on his bottom lip staring at her.
Ali marched over to the door and snatched it open.
"What?!" She barked.
Kaia gazed at her skeptically. "Hmm. You don't look like Khalil to me.."
Ali just exhaled deeply and Kaia pushed past her into the room like she owned it. Khalil noticed a towel and change of clothes in her hands.
"Let me use your shower. O'Shea is in mine." She said.
"Migo got one."
"You really want me wet and naked around a cute boy?" Kaia playfully shot him a wink.
"Kai, don't even play with me, bruh. Ain't shit happening between you and Migo. Ever. You too fucked up behind Savage anyway but WHEN.. that shit is over, you ain't finna just..move to the next homie. I'm not finna have niggas bragging about passing my sister around."
"Chill Khalil." Kaia frowned. "It was a fucking joke."
"Ain't nobody laughing with you, Kaia. Dead that shit. For real. On my mama, if I hear some shit I don't like, I'm wildin'."
Kaia looked into Khalil's eyes and saw the fire burning inside of them. His authoritative tone even caused Ali to fold her arms, shifting anxiously.
Kaia exhaled then inched over to the bathroom door. "Relax, Okay? You were right. Ain't shit gonna happen. Guess I was just tryna be funny..."
Khalil finally looked away from her, glancing over at Ali near the door. The concern on her face caused him to soften up a bit as Migo's advice circled his brain. He was suppose to be putting in a better effort to be there for Kaia, pulling her in and lifting her up.
"Just go head and take your shower, Kai. We all have to get up early." He told her gently. Kaia nodded and closed the bathroom door behind her.
When she heard the shower head running, Ali walked over and climbed back into bed with Khalil. Laying on her back, she cradled his head to her chest like a baby, stroking the edges of his hair. Khalil held on to her as if she'd disappear if he let go. From her soothing touch, Khalil's mind had began to ease a bit.
"Baby.. just let her live, you know? Just let her learn." She advised.
"I know... I know.." he sighed. "Right now, you're the only thing keeping me sane, mama. I'd probably be losing my mind."
Ali lifted his chin to give him a soft kiss. Then she kissed his chin, cheeks, nose, all the way up to his forehead. Ali was showering her man with love.
"Let's just go to bed. Tomorrow will be a brighter day." She said softly.
"I hope you're right.." he replied before a subtle slumber started to pull him in..
