#1: While it may be defined as an action/sci-fi novel, The Apostate Trials features some pretty gruesome images portraying one's humanity and how much of it they'd be willing to lose in order to survive. Such concepts include but are not limited to; physical torture, cannibalism, and more morbid bits of insanity. But it's only going to be the light stuff for a while so relax!
Although now that I think about it, that's pretty much all I can think of >.<
