Just, keep your eyes closed." He guided her with her arm as she stumbled while walking.
"I should inform you that trying to make me walk with my eyes closed is not wise. As you know I am a complete and total klutz."
He chuckled at her usual brazenness. "We are almost there. Just a few more steps." Suddenly he pulled her to a stop. "Alright, there. Now open your eyes."
She opened her eyes to reveal herself standing on a cliff overlooking their beautiful small city. She took a moment to take in the view before turning to her lover. "This is beautiful, but-"
He waited for her to continue but when, he saw the confusion on her face, he pressed her. "But what?"
"I'm confused. Why are we here?" She looked at him with a wry smile. "Are you trying to get rid of me mister? Because shoving me off this cliff is a good way to do it and I'm not sure, no I know for a fact that I do not have muscle to fight you from keeping me from going over the edge and to be fair it would be a clean way to get rid of me especially since there isn't anyone around." She said looking around to the vast clearing around them.
"What goes through your mind." He shook his head, before gazing up at her mind and then kissing her forehead. "No. I'm not here to off you. This." Taking a deep breath of the clean air and then pointing to the view, "is my anniversary present." She looked at him cautiously. His shoulders dropped as he knew what she was thinking. "Okay. Yes, I know our anniversary is next week, however I- I want to share it with you now. Just in case."
"Well, that is very cryptic." She scoffed. "But. I love it. And I love you. Whadya say we pull out that blanket I saw you stash in the back seat and put it in the bed of your truck so we can watch the sun set?"
He pulled her into his arms and gave her a brisk kiss. "Sounds good to me."
"Oh. No. I don't think so-" Before he could begin to walk away she grabbed his neck and pulled him back in for another kiss. This one slow and taunting, her tongue massaging his. He groaned into her mouth.
"Ally" He whispered breathless. "If we continue this, I don't think we will be watching anything from the bed of my truck."
"Mmmmm. Probably a good point." She kissed him once more before pulling away.
This time, he grabbed her and pulled her back into the embrace. "Are you sure that's what you want to do." He whispered in her ear. He blew breath against her ear before kissing her lobe, then trailing kisses down the name of her neck.
This time she was the one to moan. "Maybe not in such a public place." He chuckled pulling away, agreeing with her.
"Always the smart one," he kissed her cheek. "Open the back for me?" He asked retreating to the side of the rusty old Ford. She did as asked and then took the blanket from him as he hopped onto the bed. Then he caught the blanket from Ally and began to set up as she climbed up on the truck after him.
As they began to watch the sun set down over the edge of town, Ally laid against him. Listening as his heart pumped the blood through him. Feeling the sweet sound of his intakes and exhales of air. His arm wrapped around her, playing with her hair. Ally looked up to her love, gazing over his beautiful features. Especially his blazing blue eyes. When they caught a hold of her staring he swooped down and grabbed a kiss from her. Smiling she returned the kiss. "I love you Ally."
She bit her lower lip trying to contain the grin that was continuing to grow on her face. Then she snuggled even closer to him and looked out into the horizon as the last drops of sunlight began to fade. "I love you too Hail."
