"Andrea! Andrea Williams!" yelled a desperate maid. I noticed her voice immediately and knew that it was my best friend.
"Please Lizzie, only a couple more minutes," I groaned, sinking my face into my soft pillow. Lizzie, short for Elizabeth, was the first person I had gotten to know since moving to England, London... and currently my crush. I was still confused about my sexuality but I feel like time will tell so I'm not gonna worry too much about it right now.
"Andrea wake up, your mum is waiting for you!" She exclaimed with her hands on her hips.
Surrendering, I let her drag me off the large silky white bed and towards the bathroom.

"There you are darling, you took so long and now the tea has gone cold," she said emotionless.
"Good morning to you too mother," I said sarcastically sitting down at the wooden dinner table.
"I'm thinking of moving back to America again. To live on my own and create a business," I blurted out.
"I thought we had agreed to stay in England?" She warned, with her eyebrows raised. I looked at her with annoyance. Was she seriously going to do this again?
"You agreed, but I didn't. Besides, we made a deal that when I finished college I would be able to leave. You promised I could go! I turned twenty-two this spring mother. You can't keep me in this house forever," I said. She would never be able to understand my need to get out of this house.
"Elizabeth put the dishes away please," my mother spoke, not even looking in the poor maid's direction.
"Y-yes Mrs. Williams!" Lizzy spluttered, flustered by the sudden command.

A week had passed since that breakfast morning but my mother and I were still as distant as ever. What was so bad about wanting to travel and live somewhere else? I mean I could leave right now. I'm an adult and it's not like I need her permission or anything. Walking down the cream-colored stairs, I saw a strange man sitting on the sofa. He was about 6 feet tall, lean, but still fit. He had freckles, dark brown hair, and green eyes that looked unamused. After a while, he finally spoke.
"Are you Andrea?" He scoffed standing up. I've never met this man in my life yet he has the nerve to give me attitude this early in the morning.
"Yes, I am," I said annoyed. "Why do you ask?" He still looked unnerved even after my question.
"Your mum wants me to marry you," he huffed, running his fingers through his hair. "So you're my fiancée, aren't you?" He inquired, staring into my confused brown eyes.
