A woman with a hood over her head that shaded her face sat in a bar at Hunting Village. Her H/C hair barely showing out of her cloak and hood while her E/C eyes focused on the table as people walked by her. A slate exceed with a sapphire eye sat next to her in the table wearing a cute blue dress. She had a bandage over her left eye while she sat quietly, waiting for the woman's signal. The Exceed looked up at the woman curiously while the woman listened carefully to a group of bandits talk. When they up and left, the woman motioned the exceed to follow her out. The exceed flew after the woman while the woman kept her eyes on the bandits. When the bandits turned into an alley way, the woman stopped and put her back against the wall as she peeked into the alley way. The exceed stopped and looked at her. The woman looked at the exceed and motioned her stay while she entered the alley.
The bandits noticed the woman's presence, and glared back at her threateningly. The man with a scar over his forehead mocked. "What do we have here? What's wrong little girl? Did you get—"
The man was unable to finish when the woman smashed her fist into his face, knocking him out instantly. The second man gaped before yelled. "What the— why you little—?!"
She punched him in the gut before slamming his head into the wall. She turned around and threw a back swing at the third guy before jumping up and kneeing the fourth. She then ducked as the fifth tried to hit her, before kicking the guys legs out from underneath him and grabbing a trash can. She then slammed it down on the man, knocking him out. The sixth and seventh tried to escape, but the woman launched and grabbed the back of their heads, before slamming them down into the ground. The woman then stood up and scoffed at them. "What weaklings." She looked around before noticing some rope. "How convenient." She tied the men up before walking out of the alley. "Let's go, Mercy." She stated to the exceed.
The woman and the exceed, Mercy, left the village and entered the Spooky Forest. They walked around until the sun began to set over the ocean of trees and saw their small wooden house. The went into the house and the woman shut the door behind her quietly before letting out a relaxed sigh. Mercy had landed on the couch and asked curiously. "Is it okay for us to be doing this, Y/N? I mean... we aren't apart of the council and we aren't in a guild."
Y/N took off her cloak and hung it on a coat rack, revealing her O/C shirt and pants with her shoes, before responding to the exceed with a bit or sorrow coming from her tone. "What choice do I have? I can't exactly join a guild or magic council without telling them my magic. What are they going to do when the find out my dad is the most fearsome dragon to ever exist?"
"Scream and run for the hills?" The Exceed asked a bit doubtful of her answer.
    "Yes."
    "You don't know that."
"Yeah, but I don't want to take the risk of the news getting to the wrong person, ya know?" Y/N went and sat next to the exceed, leaning back against it with a frown. "I don't want to be hunted down for my power like I was back on Shadow Island."
"You could always learn more magic." The Exceed suggested with a slight shrug. "Then no one will ever know your the Apocalypse Dragon Slayer."
    "Hm?"
"Hey, your dad is called the Dragon of the Apocalypse. I'm just guessing." The Exceed looked down while playing with her paws.
"He's actually the arcane dragon and I'm the arcane dragon slayer." Y/N smiled before shrugging while staring at the exceed and siting up, leaning more forward with her forearms resting on her knees. "Besides," Y/N looked at the exceed and told her, "I know how you are around people you don't know, Mercy." Y/N's guilty and gloomy eyes landed on the exceed's bandaged eye.
Mercy looked way and held her bandaged eye tightly, feeling uncomfortable about their conversation. "Y-Yeah, But... not all people could be like that right?"
"No." Y/N shook her head before sighing. "I'm sure there's a place out there that would accept me and show you the kindness and mercy you deserve."
"That is why you named me Mercy." Mercy smiled at Y/N.
Y/N smiled as she stared at Mercy. Mercy was such a sweet Exceed, and it always made Y/N's blood boil when she thought of what happened to Mercy. Mercy was raised in a closed off facility with very evil people somewhere deep in the forest. An accident had occurred in the facility and Mercy had lost her sight in her left eye. The bandage on her eye was to hide the terrible scar and the memory that was left behind. Mercy was able to escape, and luckily had found Y/N, who saved her from the evil people and brought down the facility. Mercy refused to tell Y/N what went on in the facility and what they had done to her. Y/N was often annoyed with the secrecy but knew Mercy wasn't ready to bring back the horrible memories the scars across her small body stored. Y/N yawned as she told Mercy and stood up while stretching her arms. "Well, I'm getting in the bath and going to bed."
"Okay, I'm gonna read a book." Mercy smiled as she flew and went to get a book from the book shelf.
Y/N went into the bathroom and took a bath. She came out in her O/C pajamas and went to bed. When Y/N woke up, she found Mercy curled up next to her. Y/N slowly got out of bed careful not to wake Mercy up. Y/N walked into her kitchen and began making her F/D and F/F. She turned on the water to wash her hands, but before she put her hands in the water she stopped and thought about last night's conversation. "Y-Yeah, But... not all people could be like that right?" Y/N looked out the window that stood in front of her sink and began to wonder. Where could we go and be accepted for who we are?
