I had been waiting for two days. Now it was time to hatch my plan. I picked up my cell phone and looked at the clock. Tori wouldn't be in bed yet, so I dialed her number.
"Hello?" She said. "Tori! It's Indi. You have your driver's license right?" I asked. "Yeah. Why?" She asked, very confused. "Roger's throwing a party and I need you to take me." I said. "Does your dad know? And I thought you didn't like Roger." She said. "No Avi doesn't know." I said. "You don't like Roger." She states. "I know I don't." I hear her sigh. "Fine. I'll be there in a few minutes." She said and hung up.
I paced my room and checked my outfit again. I was wearing a black skirt and a red crop top. I smiled as I looked at my black belly button stud. I had on red lipstick and my eyes had black eyeshadow. I wore black flats, but who wouldn't. I looked out my window to see Tori outside. I opened the window and crawled out.
"Are you crazy!?" Tori whisper yelled. I laughed and made my way to the fire escape ladder. I climbed down quickly and ran over to Tori. "Come on." I said before hopping in the car. She jumped in and started the car. We start driving towards Roger's house. I look over at my red haired friend. She was wearing sky blue leggings and a light pink tank top.
I watch as we pull up to Roger's house. We get out of the car and walk to the front door. I take a deep breath and knock. I watch as the door opens and reveals Michael behind it. "Hey, Indira. Tori." He greets. Tori waves and smiles. "Hey, Michael. You know you can just call me Indi, right?" I say. He nods and chuckles. "Okay, then Indi." He says.
We walk in and hear music. Tori squeals and runs to the kitchen. I sigh and follow her, wondering what could make her squeal like that. I walk in and see her grabbing a beer. "Tori!" I shout. She looks up at me and gives me a guilty smile. "Oops. I guess we shouldn't be drinking." She says. "You think. My d- Avi will kill me if I get drunk." I say, correcting myself.
Tori stares at me for a second. "Did you almost say, dad?" She finally asks. "It doesn't matter." I mumble. "Yes, it does. If you really care about him you should call him your dad. I mean he does everything he does for you." She says. I feel trapped and I look around frantically. I wonder why I feel like this, but I find no reason. I lean against the counter and look down at my flats.
I hear Tori open the beer and she hands it to me. "Tori?" I ask. "I don't drink, but this should help." She says. I frown and set it down. "I don't think so." I mumble. "Hey Indi. How are you liking the party?" Michael asks. He walks up to me and stands by me.
I smile and pick up the beer. "It's great." I say. "I didn't know you drink." He says. "She does-" I glare at Tori. "Oh, I do all the time. My d-er, Avi doesn't know." I say. "He doesn't know you're at the party does he?" Michael asks. I shake my head and he smiles. "Good." Michael says.
I take a sip of the beer and try not to cringe. It tastes awful, but I just told Michael I drink all the time so I can't let it get the best of me. He takes a sip of his beer and looks at the other people who are dancing. "Wanna try?" He asks me. "I don't know. I'm not a good dancer." I say.
He sets his beer down and puts mine down for me. "Come on. It's a slow dance." Michael said. I sighed and looked up at his pleading gray eyes. "Alright." I said. He smiled and pulled me onto the dance floor. He put his hands on my waist and I put mine around his neck. We slowly begin to move, trying to get used to each other. It finally all lines up and we're swaying around on the floor in perfect sync.
The song ends and I stay there and don't let go. Michael stares into my eyes and I stare into his. Next thing I know his lips are pressed against mine and I melt...until I look behind Michael. I pull away quickly and stare. "Ben!?"
