At school about an hour later, I was about to pass out in first period. When Lucas dropped me off, I couldn't form a coherent sentence all thanks to my exhaustion. Although, staying up until the sun rose up was definitely an experience that I enjoyed. It was something about the stillness of the night that was sort of calming.

After Lucas and I had finished out milkshake, I asked him to bring me home so I could get at least a little bit of sleep. However, it was quarter past 7, and school started at 8, so Lucas just dropped me off at school. I was still in my pajamas and my hair looked like a spider plant on my head, but honestly I didn't care. I was way too tired.

As I was about to drool all over my notebook, I felt a poke on my back.

"Huh?" Slowly turning my head around to see who the culprit was that ruined my sleep, I found Ellie to be looking at me.

"Are you alright? You look kind of gross. Not trying to be mean though." I stuck my tongue out at her, putting my head back down on the desk. I had a huge migraine. "Did you sleep at all?"

"El. I love you but can you please be quiet?" Ellie patted my back, reassuring me that she was done asking questions.

Soon enough, I was passed out, listening to the teacher lecture about the civil war. Not even 10 minutes later, the bell rang. Raising my head off the wooden desk, I groaned. Time to go to second period. Hopefully that day would by fast.

When I looked around the room, though, I found it to be empty, except for the teacher correcting papers.

"Excuse me, where is everyone?" The teacher looked up from his desk.

"Good afternoon miss Riley. Everyone is gone," he said.

"Gone to second period right?" I stood up, grabbing my belongings.

Just as I was rushing out the door, making sure I wasn't late to class, the teacher stops me with the clearing of his throat.

"It's the end of the day. Everyone has gone home." I gave him a confused look before looking at the clock. Sure enough, it was three o'clock.

"So you just let me sleep all day?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yes. You looked like you had a rough night so I didn't want to disturb you." I gave him a smile before walking out of the classroom. I think I have found my favorite teacher.

Outside, I saw Ellie waiting for me in the parking lot. When I reached the car, I noticed Isaac was in the passenger seat. I rolled my eyes before climbing into the back seat.

"Have a nice nap?" Ellie asked as she backed out of the school parking lot.

"I sure did. Cannot believe that the teacher just let me sleep all day." Ellie laughed as Isaac glared at me in the side view mirror. I hoped he knew that I was going to tell Ellie about all the hoes that he was talking to. And I hoped that after Ellie found out, she would be done with Isaac, for good.

"I'm coming over after school. I need help with Chem," Ellie said when she dropped me off at work. I nodded before getting out of the car. Waving her car off, I walked into the cafe to find Liam behind the counter.

I grabbed my apron, tying it behind my back, before stepping onto the floor. Liam had his back turned to me while he wiped down the counter. When he heard my footsteps behind him, he whipped around with a startled expression, which caused me to laugh.

"Woah!" He put his hand over his chest as if he was having a heart attack.

"You okay? Didn't mean to scare you." I was still trying not to laugh. Something about having an athletic guy jump from getting scared amused me.
