Lydia took a long deep breath as she stared at the stick in her hand.
Positive.
"What am I going to tell James, how am I going to tell him, what about my mom.... What just happened?" All these thoughts raced though Lydia's mind as she sat in the bathroom, waiting for answers to just fall on her lap. "This cannot be true, not yet.." Lydia kept over thinking.
Knock Knock
"Who is it?" Lydia jumped at the sound, and started hiding the pregnancy test.
"It's Nick, just wondering how much longer you're gonna take." Lydia's brother Nick said through the wooden door.
"Oh, sorry, I'll be out in a minute." Lydia replied. She stood up, and started to feel sick. She put her hand out to help keep her stable against the wall. Then she made sure the test was hidden in a spot nobody would find it and washed her hands. "Here you go." She said opening the door.
"Thank you" Nick said brushing past Lydia to get into the bathroom.
Lydia grabbed her phone off the counter of the kitchen and saw the text from Addison. Who has been Lydia's best friend since Kindergarten
"What did it say?" Addison's text read.
"Positive.." Lydia replied.
"Are you going to tell James?"
"I don't know yet.." Lydia replied nervously. "What do you think he'll say?"
"You know him better than I do.. but as far as I can see, he loves and cares about you a lot. I think everything will be okay."
"Maybe I should make an appointment with my doctor first to see if I really am, before I tell him.."
"No, you need to tell him." Addison replied sounding bossy.
"Fine.. I'll call him now and see if he can come over and talk." Lydia replied.
"Okay good." Addison replied. Lydia pulled up James's number, and hesitated for a second, then pressed call.
Ring.... Ring.... Ring...
"Hello?" James answered.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
"Uh, nothing, why? What's up?"
"Can you meet me at our spot?" Lydia asked. James was quiet.
"Uh, sure, why?" James asked confused.
"We.. uh, have to talk." Lydia said silently.
"You can't talk to me now over the phone?" James asked really concerned.
"It's really important."
"Okay, I can meet you there in like 15 minutes." James said quickly.
"Okay. I'll see you there then.." Lydia stopped. "I love you."
"I love you too." James said. "Bye." Then hung up.
Lydia put her phone down, and cleaned herself up in her room, then grabbed her purse and keys, and ran into the bathroom and grabbed the test to take with. She shoved it in her purse, grabbed her keys and left.
