*Aidens POV*
We arrive at the park, the drive was so quiet that if I thought too loud he would hear it. I walked to the backseat after getting out of the car and pulled out a frisbee.
"So you're saying you felt her, but you couldn't feel her heartbeat?" he asks, "just for clarification."
"That's exactly what I'm saying." I tell him, because I know he's just curious.
We walk into the park, still talking about her. Once we start playing, I sense her again. She's closer. I look around trying to figure out what direction she's in. That's when I saw her, leaving.
"I'll- I'll be right back" I tell Josh.
I start to run towards her, grabbing her arm once I reach her.
"Uh. .hi. Where are you headed to?" I ask her, automatically regretting the words that came out of my mouth.
"Uh..do I even know you? Because if I don't, I won't tell you." She told me, releasing her arm from my grip and folding it over her chest. Feisty. I love it.
"You see, I do at least know something about you."
She takes a whiff of my scent and her eyes grow wide.
"You're a werewolf!" She whisper-yelled.
"Yes, you're a vampire, plus my mate."
"I-I need to go." She says, panicked, before taking off running.
"Oh..okay..I'll see you later..right?" I ask, already knowing her answer.
She doesn't answer, only keeps on running. I didn't see Josh come up from behind me.
"Wow man, you screwed up." He said with a smile.
"Shut up. At least I met my mate." I tell him. His face went from goofy to serious because he was too nervous, but he still continued to sense her. "Whatever." He said, headed to the car. I figured I was walking back to the house, so that's what I did.
I couldn't get the image of her out of my head. Her chestnut hair, those beautiful hazel eyes and the lips so full, almost inviting me to join them. I need to stop thinking about her, but I can't. She's already figured her way into my life and I only met her a couple of days ago.
