Chapter 1: Waking Up Alone

Shadowhunter's PoV

Shadowhunter woke up in a dark cave, but it didn't have any doors. Her eyes scanned the cave, not so much panicked but more curious and wanting answers. Her dark purple wings spread wide, well wide as they could. It was a bit small in the cave and she couldn't spread them all the way. Where am I? And where is...he? Who is he and why do I want to see him? The 3/4 NightWing 1/4 RainWing's mind swam with questions, becoming more confused by the second. She suddenly realized, she was trapped. She was trapped and if she wanted answers she had to escape, on her own. Her underbelly and snout scales went pale green for a minute as she thought about it. These were her only scales that could actually change, but she didn't often because they only could change for up to half an hour at a time and she had to wait that long to change them again. What if I never get out? What if I never see Mindfull or Frostclaws again? What if i never see him again? Her mind was clouded with a million "what ifs" as she slowly started to pace the room. Her eyes scanned the area, her mind clouded as she tried to spot something, anything. The hybrids tail swept slowly behind her, trailing dirt along with it yet she didn't notice, she was to panicked. Her eyes landed suddenly on a spot in the corner. A piece of a scroll was tucked behind a rock, and she didn't notice it before. She quickly walked over, making sure not to tear it as she lifted it from a spot behind the only other thing in the cave, a small rock. She squinted in the dark, her ability to see semi well in the dark not quite helping her here, but she managed to read the note, or most of it anyway.
Dear Shadowhunter,
I know you're reading this, confused and alone, but I can guarantee answers, I promise. All you have to do is find him, as he has to find you. I won't say his name, nor mine as it's crucial not to. It will be tough, but I know you're strong enough to make it. Once you find him, the answers will be soon to follow. Just trust your instinct and let your mind solve this.

"That's it?" she said aloud, looking over the paper as best she could. It seemed something was.... Missing from the note. There had to be more to this note, there just had to be. She glanced over and saw what looked like half of more paper. More of the note! Shadowhunter thought as she went over, but instead she found this, her hopes crushed yet her mind curious at this new paper.

Separated but not alone.
Lost memory but not forgotten.
Find the other to be one,
If not perish under open sun.

First fight the power of the sea,
Then freedom will come to thee.
Next the power of the sun,
Soon you shall see the one.
Finally the power of the land,
And this one won't be so bland.

Find the other to be one,
Find them or face the sun.

Shadow read it over once, then twice, confused. What was this? Was there more? Why did it seem... unfinished? It had to be talking about her and him, whoever he was, right? This was all so.. Confusing, but Shadow could figure it out. She had to... right?
