The Dark of Night

Chapter 1 : Dusk

The Rain hit hard on the metal roof of the complex. It was the dead of night as sound of pitter patter filled the air.

"A Break in.." The Mysterious voice said on radio.

The building was empty apart from the two armed officers exploring the building. "Marcus..you might want to check this out" The Officer waved for his partner. The young mans blue eyes fill with terror and dred as he spots the lifeless corpse. "Dude what happened to her..." The other officer said holding back vomit as he gags repeatedly.
The sound of rain was then drowned out with noises of sirens as multiple Vehicles pull up to the building.

Marcus was new to the police force after years of training. This was his first real assignment after a year of Patrols.
"This is Officer Markus...we have a confirmed casualty..Multiple stab wounds to the waist..they look like teeth marks." The room the women was found in had claw marks across the walls like some sort of beast had attacked but the size of the marks indicated something other then beastly.
For the first time they actually had some evidence behind these mysteries murders.

After an hour of waiting Marcus was allowed to leave the crime scene. "Dude..something about these murders aren't making any sense.." There had been a total of 15 murders since the beginning of this mysterious killers reign began. Marcus was scared more then ever at the thought of this "Ray..I've had these nightmares about the killer that he will come after us..my family.." Ray was also a rookie he was like a brother to Markus as they grew up together. Markus thought about his kid who was only six. " I don't want them to get hurt..." Ray looked at Markus feeling his pain.

"Markus..I know your worried but the way things are going right now we will catch the guy and things will go back to normal..I promise" Ray was worried about Markus as he patted his back. They both were legitimately terrified almost traumatized by the horrific sight they just had seen. "Poor lady we need to find that demon of a man and we need to quickly before more die.." Markus was trying to piece together the murders but no avail he had no success. "You hungry dude.." Ray pounded twice on Marks gut.
"Kinda.." Markus replied with a whimpering voice. The sound of country music filled the cruiser as ray had turned on the radio. "Ray how can you stand this..it's always about a women and a pick up truck it's just annoying." Markus turned off the radio letting the city's natural noises hit there ears.
New York never slept as it's bright lights filled hope and dreams into millions of people. Animal attacks weren't as normal as you would expect in a really crowed city such as N.Y
Rays eye patch flew off picking up within the polluted gusts of air hitting the twos face as the windows were down. Ray was born with his left eye missing and was just a wall of flesh. "Markus..can I ask you something..?" Ray asked covering his eye with his hand.
Markus took his eye of the road for a millisecond " What's you need r.." The police cruiser was hit head on by another passing by car..sending the vehicle to flip over killing Ray as he was hit directly.
"ra..ray.." Markus unbuckled himself causing him to fall head first hitting the roof of the cruiser knocking him out.
