Third person's P.O.V
Thomas Thompson also known as Tom is your average 'nerdy' type of guy. He loved to be buried in a pile of paperwork to probably keep himself busy.
He never had much friends, except for the two nice owners of a book shop 6 blocks away from his house named Edd and Matt. The two was known to have the best book shop in town. But their shop wasn't always packed. In fact it's only packed during the day but in night?
Their shop was as quiet as a ghost town. This gave Tom the opportunity to read alone without a crowd. Tom never questioned why the shop was only packed in the day time and not in the night.
"Tom, it's like.. Already close to 9. S-shouldn't you be heading home by now?" Edd started with a nervous tone making the brit look up to him. "What's wrong? You have never seem to be like this before." Tom remarked as he cocked his eyesbrows.
Soon then Edd's boyfriend, Matt walked downstairs, "I think you should really head home early today Tom.." He started.
"What's up with you guys?" Tom asked as he laid the book that he was reading on top of the table and turned towards the two.
"Well.. We've heard... Rumors lately.."
"Rumors?"
"As to.... Why our shop is only packed when it's daylight."
"And?"
"Well...." Edd interrupted as he paused and looked outside.
"There's a serial killer on the loose..."
"What?! That's ridiculous!!"
"I know Tom but maybe it's true.. It has been kinda fishy since we first opened our shop. Maybe without you our shop wouldn't have a costumer at night." Edd explained before Tom stood up with a sigh, "alright. If you are certain about it bud."
"Y-you could stay here for the night?"
"And be a third wheel? Nah." Tom earned a few chokes as he turns back to pick up the book while pushing up his round glasses to the bridge of his nose.
"Mind if I bring this home? I'll return it IN the day time to keep you ensure." Tom said before he head to the door.
"But Tom! You really could stay here! We mean it!"
"Don't wanna!" Tom replied before he finally disappeared outside. Edd and Matt couldn't even see him anymore. Since the street lights were like a 10 minute walk from their shop.
It made the both of them nervous for their friend. But what can they do when their friend himself doesn't even want to.
Tom clutched the book in his arms, he just started walking away then a heavu rain poured on him not even giving him the chance to reach the bus stop. He groaned in annoyance, he didn't want the book to be wet.
It be bothersome to read from it. So he decided to ran, his glasses was starting to fog up as he was panting. It took a bit of small trips and slips before he finally got to the bus stop.
Realising that the last bus already came a few minutes ago.
"Great." Tom mumbled before he started walking, still clutching and covering the book in his arms as he followed the lights on his way home. It was then Tom noticed how quiet everything was. Too quiet.
