"Okay, get your wallet ready because I'm going to have 30 drinks lol. Anyways, where we going?"

I hesitantly sent the text, thumping my fingers on the screen. About 5 minutes later, I receive another text from Luke.

Luke: It's a secret ;)

"You better be picking me up tomorrow then."

Luke: Roger! We are going to have a blast!

I giggled as I took a nearby pillow and hugged it. This is exciting, I could get used to this feeling. I'm suddenly reminded of the multiple girlfriends Luke has had throughout our friendship. I start to remember every single one, counting them off in my head.

1... the 2nd one was a lot to handle... 3... 4... 5... the 6th one was annoying gosh... 7... 8... 9th one was really nice... 10... That is a lot of girls. But every single girl he has had, he would quickly introduce them to me which I had found quite strange. Even more strange, after only a couple of months of dating, he would break up with them. No explanation. Do you know how many women I have had to comfort because of him?

As I thought of everything I had to go through because of him, I grew exasperated. "Time to sleep," I say as I stand up and stretch. I quickly took a shower, brushed my teeth, and slept. I woke up the next morning and quickly headed to work.

As I entered the work area, I find my boss waiting for me at my desk. Charles, the boss everyone wants. Super charming, dedicated, and caring. Also, very cute. He quickly waved me over as he smiled. I speed walk to him. I stop right in front of my chair and look up to meet his eyes. I smile. He looks away for a second, coughs, then turns back to me.

"Why didn't you answer my text last night?" He asks.

"Oh, I already had plans for tonight. I'm sorry," I saw, bowing apologetically.

I completely forgot to answer the boss' text! And Jason's! Just because I was so focused on Luke's invitation. The boss chuckles as he ruffles my hair. "It's nothing. Don't be so cute," he says as he keeps ruffling my hair.

I blush as I look up to him, finally acknowledging what he said. "I'm... cute?" I ask back to him. "Oh- uh, no. Yes? I mean, I don't know," he responds, letting go of my hair and blushing, clearly flustered. I giggle and say, "Boss, now you're being too cute." We both laugh at my comment. "Well, it's time for my leave. Let's plan to have dinner some time else?" He asks, gathering himself.

I nod and wave good-bye to him as he walks away.

"My, you and the boss are pretty friendly, aren't you?" Jason says, approaching me while holding his laptop, 2 notebooks, folders, and pens.

"What can you say? Happy boss, happy work place," I say, sitting down as I turn on my computer.

"Well, let's get this proposal done. What do you think?" Jason asks as he gets a chair and places it next to mine.

"Yeah, let's do it," I say excitedly.

We both chat away and discuss the proposal as time ticked away. With 3/4 of the proposal done, lunch time has arrived. "Let's get some lunch. It's on me," Jason says, standing up and stretching. "You sure?" I ask, doing the same. He nods and starts to gather up his stuff. "Wait for me. I'll be back in 5," he says as he begins to walk towards his desk. I nod.

"Well, well, well. Look who we have here," says a voice behind me.

I turn around and immediately blush.

"Lu- Luke, what are you doing here?" I ask, stuttering on his name.

"To visit my best friend. Obviously!" He yells excitedly, hugging me.
