My heart beats fast for you and I have no idea why. Scattering my thoughts into broken sentences that I play off in texts. I try to remain calm or at least seem calm, but my flustered cheeks and shaking hands got the better of me. I feel ineffable around you. You're probably just being nice or maybe I'm in denile.

I'm sitting in english class, listening to Mrs Wright talk about Anne Frank. My phone vibrates in the pocket of my uniform skirt, I check the message.

Ciara: "Hey! We still on for after school?"

Aurora: "Of course, can't wait :)"

Ciara: "Alright, what class are you in?"

Aurora: "English, how about you?"

Ciara: "Math, surprisingly it's not that bad."

Aurora: "Ahahaha who's your teacher?"

Mrs wright approaches my desk. "Whys your phone out?" Her death cold stare pierces my skin. How I message you in class and my phone gets taken but it's worth it, apart from the fact I can't message you.

After school rolls around quickly. I stand patiently in the corner of the bus bay waiting for you. In the corner of my eye I see you wave, I walk over to you. "Well, lets get to it my friend." Ciara was very chipper. "Not even I hey? I feel loved." I teased. We walked for about half an hour to get to the house, it's a main hangout spot of kids at Harmon Girls High School. We climbed the rotting stairs to get to the roof, it was always a great place to watch the sunset. Empty beer bottles were scattered across like shells on the sea shore. The sun was setting early tonight and a few stars were in vision. She started playing music off of her phone, quiet but still able to hear. we sat on the ledge of the roof top, staring out into the sky. "Why do you like stars so much? I don't really get the obsession." Ciaras'  voice tangled with the soft meloncholy music playing in the background. "I've always loved stars. They remind me there's so many beautiful things out in there, which we almost never see, because we're blinded by what's in front of us." I continue to stare at the orange and pink laced sky. "Then I learnt the truth. The stars we see have been dead for millions of years. They're all... lies. Everything is a fucking lie." My hair shifts slightly due to a gust of wind."Who cares if the stars are dead. As long as we can still see them, that means they're real to us." Her soft voice rings in my head. "I guess you're making a valid point."
