"Promise on our friendship then," I suggested, tearing my eyes away from his.
"Our friendship, huh?" Ryan whispered, lifting my chin to meet gaze.
"Yes," I hitched, my breathing becoming ragged.
"What if there is more than friendship?" he asked.
"More than friendship?" I questioned, my forehead crinkling in confusion.
"Yes," he answered, stroking the side of my cheek with his thumb.
I curled into his touch, closing my eyes.
"Do you mean, like having a best friend/sibling bond relationship?" I spoke softly, glancing up at his face.
"More than that," he said, his thumb moving to trace my lips.
"What could be more than that?" I exclaimed.
Ryan chuckled, a wistful smile crossing his face.
"What?" I demanded.
What was he laughing about?
It was a valid question to ask. What could be more than friendship for us? My heart leaped loudly, an image of us holding hands floating in the back of mind. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. What could be realistic for us that's more than friendship?
"Are you always so oblivious?" he inquired, his pupils dilating as he studied my body.
"Uh...I was always told I wasn't very street start smart," I stuttered, flushing under his gaze. Suddenly, I felt really self-conscious of my bikini.
"Huh," he murmured, giving me a weird look.
"Yeah... are you ever going to answer my question?" I muttered.
"Of course," he smirked and suddenly the gap between us disappeared.
I could smell his cologne, it reminded me of cinnamon, his breath smelled like peppermint patties.
I swallowed and tried to move away but grabbed me and then, gently cupped my face with his big hands.
"Don't you want to know what's greater than friendship?" he asked, his breathing washing over me in waves.
"Yes," I breathed, unable to do anything but look up into his eyes. We were so close that I could see the white lines spiraling through the Iris and stopping at the pupil.
Ryan's eyes widened and a big smile consumed his face and slowly, then, he closed the space completely, our noses touching.
But he didn't stop there, his eyes drifted to my lips.
He stared at them and I stared at him until he gently kissed my lips.
At first, I didn't know how to react. I didn't stop him from kissing me or dive into the kiss. I was in shock and for the first minutes, it was like he was kissing a statue.
Then...I came alive. My frozen heart thawed and I gained control of my limbs.
I kissed him back. Ryan smiled in our kiss and pulled me closer until we were skin on skin on the tiled floor. He bit my lip for entrance and I let him, diving deeper and deeper into each other.
