As a human of the Erorean Empire, there are many rules to follow and secrets kept in the royal kingdom's family. One rule, to never leave the kingdom itself in fear of the surrounding woods that hold unimaginable things that could take over the civilization within the kingdom. Those unimaginable creatures are talked about in hushed voices, ways to scare the children, and yet, ones no one has ever seen. The royals secret is that the prince isn't fully a human, only a half human and half elf. The citizens are chosen in a series of training tests once they reach the age of sixteen that will decide who becomes a part of the army, led by the prince himself. If they were to find out about their precious prince, then the kingdom is doomed to fall.

Prince Evan had been taught as a child how to be a warrior, training his whole life how to fight and lead a battle. He has tattoo markings etched upon his face in a pattern that covers half of it in order to show his leadership. His long blond hair usually makes him stand out over everyone else along with his left eye as it is a completely white. Rumors say that he is blind, others say that maybe he has been possessed by the terrible monsters that live outside in the woodlands. His other eye holds a rich green color with a deep red blending around the pupil, causing more villagers to believe the folklore that he has a connection with the forests beyond the realm of their kingdom. The king makes sure to keep all of the prince's secrets though, and making sure anyone who speaks ill of their prince will be banished.

Rumors or not, there is more to the royals than anyone will tell. Even though the prince is forty years old in human years, he has yet to be married and have children which has been questioned many times by the government within the Empire. Evan quickly makes this clear.

"I will have none of this, father! I am a warrior, I will not have children," he speaks out of turn one night in the dining hall for dinner. His sister does not look impressed as she sighs and takes a sip of her wine. His mother stays completely quiet.

"Really, father, this is who you want to be the king some day," his sister Ciara says in a frustrated tone, everyone being quite aware of her opinion on their father's decision.

"Quiet, all of you! You may be a warrior, Evan, but to be the king of this empire than you will have to lead a war, manage a civilization, and a family all in one."
