Eleanor's POV

I woke at 7 like clockwork. Usually  on Sundays I would get up at 7 do workouts, read books or work or cook depends mostly on the mood.

Bright sunlight was streaming through the massive glass windows

My eyes squinted as they adjusted to them. I turned my body only to see Xander's face. The small subtle on his defined jaw and cheeks. The calm eyebrow with eyes shut, the long eye lashes curling against his cheek. The slightly tanned face with its half part lit up with sunlight. He was beautiful rough with a rugged composure. He looked hot and sexy. She bit her lip as she took in his features. Snapping out of her daze she pulled off the covers only to have her naked body in view. The night was amazing. She had never imagined her first time to be so splendid. As she searched for something to cover up her naked glory she saw the scars. Her face lost its colour. Pain memories anger and grief began form its way in her brain. How could she be so stupid?? She bent down and took his shirt. Wearing it she walked towards her bathroom. She gave her virginity to him and now he had seen the scars. He had not mentioned about them but that does mean they were invisible to him. He was going to wonder? What will she tell him? Even if decides to tell him, did she trust him enough? He definitely knew that she didn't talk about her past and that she was orphan according to data. She stepped into the cold shower. Questions and various thoughts bombarding her. The shower could do her no good. So, she turned it dressed into her sports attire and went to her indoor basketball court. Xander was still sleeping. Might be a heavy sleeper. No problem with that.

Next morning:

He rolled to his side just to see the other side of bed empty. He remembered the events of last night. It was the best sex he ever had.

Thinking back to the previous night, he thought.

He felt it. Saw the vulnerability in her eyes. The fear and defensive stance of her which she had guarded down last night for him. She had deep dark secrets. Very well. It made her interesting and like a puzzle he desperately wanted to solve. A defying challenge.

He observed her room. Her room was painted black and grey. Everything is the house was sophisticated and dark and deep and kind of mysterious. Just like her. He was going to find out her secrets. And he had already searched her at least on internet. Luke would give me the file probably on Monday. He would have given it earlier but might be busy. No problem with that.

Things he found out were. No boyfriends at all, well at least in the records. Hence no children, no marriages, no divorces.

Just few speeding tickets. Wow.

Orphaned, left foster house system when 18.

Though she had a rough start in her life everything mentioned seemed okay. If that was it then why she was defensive and had shields. The way her eyes turned cold on the mention of her parents that day seemed odd. Like she knew them and had a bad time with them. That wouldn't be the case if she was orphaned. Or the way she turned her head sideways when he cornered her. Right? It was something else. He knew it.

Everything written seemed normal but there was something that was different. And this thought was popping constantly in his head, like the cuckoo in the cuckoo clock. Irritating him due to lack of knowledge and making him very curious to find out. But he couldn't confront her. She had done enough in her part by kissing and giving me her virginity. It was a very huge step for a girl with none. And she gave that to him and he felt fucking precious and happy.

But one thing was confirmed. That she was different. Did her secrets made her that way? Was her behaviour just a mere façade so no one knew the real her? Maybe.
