"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!" Max was freaking out. He was trying to walk through the halls in school, for him this was a hard task. He was very sensitive to noises and he had forgotten his noise cancelling headphones at home. Some other kids were just watching him as he sat with his knees to his chest and his hands covering his ears, he was up against the lockers. Luckily Neil was passing by and saw him. The teen quickly ran over and tried to calm Max down, mostly trying to distract him with his phone.

"Max, calm down, please" He tried to get people to go to class. All of the others luckily left since class was about to start.
"Max, start counting" Neil took a deep breath to show Max what he needed to do.
"Hey, Max. Remember. One" Neil helped him start. Max caught on.

"One, two, three, f-four," Max took a deep breath.
"Five, six, s-seven, eight n-nine, ten" Max hugged himself.

"Deep breaths" Neil took deep breaths for Max, he had to deal with this at least once every month, Max normally didn't forget his headphones. Max took deep breaths then slowly got up.
"Cover your ears, the bell is about to ring" Neil continued to take deep breaths. Max covered his hands with his sleeves then covered his ears.

The bell rang.

Max darted to class. Neil chuckled as he watched his friend run off.

"Alright Max, how about you look me in the eyes while I talk" The teacher watched as Max chewed on his squishy necklace. Max shook his head no and got up.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" She smiled and crossed her arms.

"I'm gonna take a break for ten minutes" He started walking away. She shook her head and gently took a hold of his hoodie.

"No, we've only done five minutes of lessons so far, we do twenty and ten our break, remember? I think you just don't want to look me in the eyes" She sat Max back down at his desk. She sat down in front of him.

-

"So basically, she wanted me to do stuff that I just can't do!" Max whined. He had his head in David's lap and they were watching Steven Universe. David nodded some.

"Maybe cause she wants to help with your social skills?" He was stroking his sons hair. Max shrugged.

"I don't care, I can't do that" Max took David's hand and put it on his cheek. He liked how warm it was.
"I wish I never had to go to school again" Max sighed. David nodded.

"Yea, I'm sure a lot of kids like you feel the exact same way" David sighed.
"If I could I would take your autism away, trust me buddy" David smiled some.

"It's Aspergers, and why? I don't think I would ever take it away. It's a part of me and if I didn't have it I would be a complete different person! I like my person!" Max hugged himself. David chuckled some.

"I love your person too Max, I just don't want you having to struggle" He ruffled Max's hair making him whine and squirm. David quickly moved his hand away, not wanting to deal with a melt down right now. Max sat up and wrapped his arms around David, laying his head on David's shoulder.
"I'm so happy to have you as my son, I don't care what disability you have, you're still my son and no matter what I would love you just the same" David smiled. Max nodded and closed his eyes, the two did this almost everyday, it's almost like a ritual that they did this. David hummed softly to Max who just sat and listened.
