Greyson POV

He howls to me, but I know better, I keep running. He growls, but I know to never turn back. She howls, making my ears perk at the sound. I run to her aid. She is circled by wolves. I quickly spot the one in charge, so I position my pounce to kill him. Tackling the wolf to the ground, I  snarl and nip at him then he shows his neck in surrender.

Behind me, I heard someone clap.

"You did well Greyson. You didn't stop, you hesitated, but didn't stop. I'm proud of you," said my Alpha Grimon Knight, my Dad.

"Grimon, don't be so hard on her" My mother says softly.

Yes, I am a female, soon to be Alpha. He growls angrily to her. "Hush it woman! Greyson will be my successor!"

My mother shrinks back in fear and bows her head. "Yes, Alpha." He grins, but anyone with eye sight can tell he's battling his wolf, his eyes bleeding into black.

His wolf is angered that his human is having his mate call him by is rank not his name or love. Mates are equals, but his human is power hungry, slowly turning his wolf power hungry too. His phases into his wolf out of no where and runs into the dark tree line of the the forest. His wolf won that argument, but how much longer can he win against his human?

He's wasting away, they both are Essa(a-z-a), my wolf says. I sighed.

Essa, you know we'll have to challenge him soon right? I replied.

Yeah I know, but I don't if I'll beat him Grey. She softly spoke to me, her voice dropping low.

"Greyson Marie Knight! Why haven't you cleaned up for dinner young lady?" My mom says in an upset tone, from the porch.

"Sorry Momma" I say back, knowing she could hear me. She sighs and walks away. I rush to my room. I open the door quietly to insure that I wouldn't disturb the alpha. My room had purple-grey colored walls, white fur rug, white plush couch with black throw pillows, a queen sized bed with dark grey covers with more black pillows. I quickly make my way to my closest, finding an outfit appropriate for dinner. My results were silver hoodie crop top and white jogger jeans. I grin to myself, then I heard sirens.

My ears pulse from the sudden noise. Oh no. Essa whispers as I run, almost slip down the stairs to the sound of screams. I immediately search for my mom."Mom!"

"Greyson! Where's Roselynn?"

"Ahhhh!"

I hear Roselynn scream. "Rose?!" I yell for her, desperate to find my little sister. Following her scent of cherries and cinnamon, I see a bulky man dragging my 3 year old sister by her hair.

Essa pushed to the surface, taking control. I was thrown to the back of my mind where the dark consumed me.

-two hours later-

"Greyson needs to know" The voice of my Beta says.

"She's hardly surviving the forced phased of Essa. How will she handle that kind of new?" my delta spoke in harsh, hushed tone.

The pack doctor walked in. "Hello Alpha, you have been unconscious with multiple deep wounds, and a minor concussion, but Essa seems to have healed those."

Alpha? I'm not Alpha. Yes, we are. They're gone. My wolf sounds sadder than ever.

What do you mean they're gone? I question

Mom, Dad, Dave, Jen, mark, and Zella. They're gone, rogues killed them. Essa said, worry dripping from her tone.

Slowly I register what she said. I scream, Blake and Zen dash to my side with wild looks. "Is it true?" Blake looks away with tears in her eyes and Zen visibly shakes with sadness.

"Yes." They whisper. That's when I recognize the power radiating off them. "You've accepted your positions?" They both have full blown smiles now.
"Yes. The pack needs guidance without an Alpha, so we took our roles as beta and delta." Blake spoke with pride for herself and Zen.

We need to lead our pack. Essa says. I couldn't agree more.

"Get the pack ready" I tell Zen and she smirks.

"Yes, Alpha."

*20 minutes later*

Every surviving member, roughly about 175. I step upon the microphone stand. "Hello fellow pack members." Everyone was silent as I spoke the next words, "I, Greyson Knight, accept my position of Alpha of this pack, which will be renamed to the Knight Moon Pack, like my late mother wanted." Cheers erupted from the crowd.

"Go have a good night everyone." Blake told the pack.

"I'm sure being leaders of a pack at our age will be tricky." Blake and Zen nodded.

"But together, we will make it work." we all simultaneously said, only to burst into laughter.
