This is for reaching almost 2k. Thanks, you guys! I never really thought this book would get anywhere. Anyways, Adam andTy are the age 9 in this oneshot.

Ty's POV

I sprint out the house with tears in my eyes and my bag of supplies and clothes. "Tyler Lox, get back here now!" My father yells with frustration, but I don't listen. He was drunk and tried to touch me. Before my mother died 2 years ago, she warned me about this.

*Flashback*

I sat in the corner of my room with fear, I had heard both of my parents arguing downstairs. I then heard a loud boom from the front door and then complete silence. I move from the corner to the door and peek out, before gradually head downstairs. I gasp. My mother laid on the floor surrounded by blood and a knife next to her. I run to her and grasp her hand, holding it close to my heart. She was bleeding from the side of her stomach.

"Mommy!?" I cry, kissing her hand.

"I'm sorry, Tyler." She coughed up blood. "Mommy can't stay with you anymore." She stuttered her tears mixed with the blood.

"I can save you, mommy! Just tell me what to do! Please!" I yelled. "I don't want to lose my only mommy."

"It's okay, Tyler. It's my time to go. But I must warn you about your father before I go." I shook my head for her to continue. "Your father has done some horrible things in the past. I should have left him when I had the chance." She coughs more blood. " You wouldn't have to live the life of terror that will be a head. If your father does anything weird or uncomfortable leave this house and find better." I cry harder than I ever had. " I have this secret chest under my bed. Take it and hide it for when you need it. The code is your birthday." She says as her eyes start to close. "Come closer, Tyler." I nod and move closer. She kisses my forehead. "May you be smiled upon." Her eyes closed fully. "Mommy? Mommy! No,no,no mommy please." I say as I shake her. I cry on her chest that had some blood from her coughing.

I get up and slowly make it to her room, checking under the bed for the chest. I find it and put the code in. It revealed many pictures of the good times we had as a family. I dig more and find two stacks of money rolled into rubber bands. There was a debt card for me and green and black headset. " Mommy's favorite headset." I say as I wiped my tears from my face. I put everything away and put the chest in my room under the bed. I went downstairs to call the police.

*End Flashback*

I run and run until I make it to the candy store. I take a break and breathe. As I did I felt myself get hit in the face. I fall to the ground. The person dragged me to the park across the park. He threw me to the ground. I looked up to see my bully, Mark from school.

Adam's POV

I walk from the grocery store, getting more food for my house. As I leave I play with my purple and butter amulet, remembering how it got me here.

*Flashback*

I walk the halls of the orphanage until I find my teacher's office. I knock on the door and open it. "Take a seat, Adam." I nod and close the door, sitting in the chair in front of her desk. "Yes, Miss Maria." She walked in to a closet and came back with a box. "This box was with you the day I found you on our doorstep. It came with a note attached. It said to give this to you when you turned 9." She handed it to me. I check around the old box and fight to open it. "How do I open it?" She nodded and went back to her desk. "The note said you would know how to open it." I stood up from the chair. "Thank you, Miss Maria." She gave me a smile. "Your welcome, Adam. You'll figure out how to open it." I left her office and went to the bathroom. There were some kids in the bathroom, so I head into the big stall. I continue to fight with the box. As I give up I throw the box. I heard footsteps of the kids leave the bathroom. Then my Amulet lit up and the box opened. "How?" I look through the box. A picture of a woman and a man holding a baby. I flipped it and it read; Aya & DioDalhberg w/ their baby Adam. There were keys attracted with a note and a picture. "Dear, Adam we need you to leave this orphanage and move into this house when you turn 9. This is important. There is money for you to survive for 8 years in a bank count in your name. The house had been paid off too. You are probably wondering why? Everything will reveal in time. We are sorry we can't be with you. Love Mom & Dad." I read. There was also money and the directions to the house.

*End Flashback*

As I walk down the sidewalk I see a kid get punch in the face by a bigger kid. "What the hell?" He dragged the kid into the nearby park. Something tug at me to help this poor kid. I run to the park and see the bigger kid beating on the kid with the long brown hair that covered his eye. I stared him straight in his maroon eyes and he looked back. "Help me." He said weakly. The big kid said many curses at the weak boy. I look around and find one of the metal pieces from the slide that broke off. I took it and run quietly behind the bully. I count to three softly and smack it over his head. He fell and yelled more curse. "Come with me!" I yelled to the smaller boy with my hand out. He grabs it and we run to my house in the woods, which was hidden really well. I put my hand on the scanner and we walk into my house.

Ty's POV

I walk into the house and stay by the door. "You can sit in the living room." The boy with the curl brown hair said as he pointed the way and went into the other room. I walk in and there was a flat screen TV and a big huge couch. There was a table in front of the couch. The living room was kind of small. I jumped on the couch and started to giggle. The couch was very jumpy. I started to jump on it until the boy walked in "Having fun!" He giggled. I stopped and sat down with speed. "Sorry.." He walked over with a kit. "It's alright the couch is fun to jump on." He started to take out bandages and other stuff. "Your mom doesn't stop you from jumping on the couch?" He gave me a sad smile. "I don't have any parents."

"Oh. I'm sorry." He cleans my cuts. "It's okay." He starts putting bandages on them. "I don't have any parents too. My mom passed away 2 years ago. And I had to run away from my dad." After he was done with the everything he sat next to me on the couch. "Why?" He said with concern. "He would beat me and today he try to do something very bad to me that no daddy should do and I left the house with my stuff. And now I have no where to stay." I said on the verge of tears. "I'm sorry." He gives me a hug.  "How about you stay here with me!" He let go of the hug and smiled. "I can?"

"Yeah! This house has 8 rooms for some reason. There is already stuff in them. And I have never had a friend before."

I got up from the couch. "I never had a friend before too and I would love to stay here, but what if my daddy finds me?" He patted my back. "I promise I wouldn't let him get you and we live far in the forest."

"Okay...I guess." He grabbed my arm and hold me tightly. "Let me show you the house....What's your name?" I smile. "My name is Tyler Lox but I would rather be called Ty."

"My name is Adam Dalhberg, but my nickname is sky." He stated. "Why is your nickname sky?"

"Because when I was in the orphanage, I would get bullied a lot and my bully gave me that name because I would look at the sky a lot and he thought that was girly. He start to cry a bit." May you be smiled upon." I took his forehead and kissed it. "What was that for?"

"My mom said it was a spell that could make anybody happy." He wipe his tears and did the same back to me. "May you be smiled upon." We both smile. "And I love your nickname, Sky." He smiled and started showing me the house.

"I hope we get a happy ending with a bunch of friends." I mumbled.

"Me to, Ty. Me too." He giggled.
